Give us an option to make things like talents private

Tired of other players telling me how to play. I don’t always pick the “best” talents, I pick the talents that are more comfortable to me. For example; if there’s a passive talent vs a talent that gives me another spell, on a class/spec that already has a lot of spells to manage, I don’t want another one.

I pick a lot of passive talents because I am lazy, and like stuff simple.

Tired of people inspecting me, then telling me “Oh take X talent instead of Y” etc

Wish we could make ourselves more private in game so people can’t inspect and judge

Just tell them to get bent if they press you after “thanks but no thanks.”

Not hard.

Ignore them and their “expert” opinions.

Geez, you made it to lvl 50 as a BM hunter without ever picking up any new pets except a generic wolf?

Now I’m judging the OP.

If something as such were implimented people can still look at your character via forums and armory.

or addons
no way to hide something from people these days
some know the way lol

Yeah, I mostly sit in Stormwind and level through dungeons. Only bothered to get the wolf for a Hero because they are right outside Stormwind.

Told you, i’m lazy =/

Sure but you would probably be passed up for most of the more challenging group content. As people would just assume you have some subpar spec and are just trying to hide that fact.

If I’m on my 20th wipe and the past few have been <5% wipes, I should have every right to look at my group and see how we can squeeze out that 5%.

“Sorry… I just don’t want another key to press” is not an acceptable excuse.
Dismiss yourself from the group when you hit an obstacle if that’s your attitude, because you’re unwilling to put in the work to get over it.

Let me guess… people are telling you to get Animal Companion?

It’s a game. I am here to have fun, not make a min/max like a chore/job etc.

I guess you’d really be offended to know I never SIM myself, look up specs, or even use a DPS meter.

I do this because I’m too lazy to figure out talents to pick on my own.

Get on my level.

As am I, and everyone else in the group.
Wiping 20 times because 1 person is unwilling to be “uncomfortable” for 6 minutes isn’t fair. It isn’t fun.

Neither do I.

You don’t need to use one.
But if other people are consitently telling you you’re on the bottom of theirs, that’s an issue.

This isn’t a matter of elitism. It’s a matter of common courtesy.

That is perfectly fine and so is his position. You can play how you want and he can play how he wants. The rub comes in if you expect others to just accept your subpar spec and build while struggling to defeat content.

For some people it can be hard, if you don’t like confrontation.

But I 100% agree with you.

“When you pay not only my WoW sub but my electric bill, then we can talk” works, too.

Sure, although i think it don’t matter.

It’s your choice on how to pick talents, and if you choose to listen or not to others trying to pick your talents for you.

If you don’t want to change them, just ignore them.

But just letting you know, even if you can hide your talents, there is addons that keeps track of your ability usage, even passives so they could figure out how you talent anyways.

You are free to play as you want, but you are not free to inflict knowingly bad choices on 4+ other people.
