Give us a GDKP server

exactly. theres nothing wrong with wanting to improve, or having friendly competition with friends or guildies and parses are a way to measure that. the second its used to insult someone, your parse in being cringy is a flat 100.

There can be more than one reason, and a GDKP ban can be one.

Personally, I don’t really care if I can participate in GDKPs specifically or not, but I think it’s silly to ban a loot system that people enjoy.

SoD’s PvP systems are not something I would point to as a selling point either though, tbh.

But in the end, those who want fresh will have fresh, and those who want GDKPs will have them on Era anyway, so win/win.

:woman_shrugging:

It’s fair that I can go to a raid and save up gold from literally participating in said raid, and use that to purchase the gear. Literally DKP but it’s not tied to a guild and can be used to fund consumables/enchants/repairs. I don’t particularly like GDKP’s that bring pure-buyers. Most of my experience in GDKP’s is just a full group of “hybrids”/“carries” where everyone just needs a couple of things for bis.

I don’t consider /roll fair. It’s the equality vs equity argument. Just because everyone is equally at the mercy of RNG doesn’t make the situation fair.

You can make that argument that anyone could just swipe and that makes GDKP unfair but uhhh, yeah people who cheat tend to make things unfair. Ban them.

This is blizzards band aid fix for RMT. Because they refuse to fix the root cause of the problem.

If blizzard actually Region locked servers made them Anti VPN and linked accounts to Government Issued ID and just banned the person and not the account for RMT this would put a detrimental impact on RMT/Bots/cheaters But since blizzard doesnt want to do any of these things the players suffer. Which makes the snowball effect that we see constantly

  1. Blizz does something that impacts player base negatively but doesn’t fix the root cause of the problem.
  2. Player quits
  3. blizz loses money
  4. blizz freaks out and adds anther fix
  5. more players quit
  6. blizz continues to lose money

The problem just continues Instead of investing the money to fix the problem they continue to throw money at the problem and make it worse. while losing more and more money. It is literally the detention of insanity.

Nah the bandaid fix for RMT was the wow token, now people still RMT but it’s legal and blizzard gets a cut.

The easier fix than getting some intern to code anything you’ve suggested would be to hire some cheap labor to monitor each server and ban bots instantly. They’re so blatant you could literally just sit in start zones and ban them as they create characters because they don’t even try to pretend to be actual characters.

You know what RMT needs to be banned more than GDKP? All the rat streamers who do RMT boosts in arena. Someone subs/donates to their stream and then a total random joins them for a few games in arena to gain rating. Was super obvious in TBCC when they had to join the same team as the person getting boosted, surprise surprise though all of them got banned and then immediately unbanned. Because blizzard doesn’t actually care about RMT, just making it look like they care.

That is on retail and cata not in era

This would require GMs actually playing the game again.

This is also very true. This has been evident for years/decades
