According to a datacron obtain through questionable methods, Blizzard plans to revert SV to its Legion specification, turn BM into a tank spec (the hunter fights from inside the pet), and give MM spider bots that can attack people around corners and inside buildings.

That said…
Couldn’t we at least have excused this with an equally ridiculous “Pet AI fixed, intuitive and dynamic micro-AI added, and BM can now instantly swap between controlling pet and player with Eyes of the Beast” Can add on a further “and pets actually have a bunch of interesting and useful abilities” if we wanted to the average hunter going for this (i.e., beyond furries reading your preposition questionably).
