Playing TSG as warrior… I need a new character.
This game just feels like garbage now. I’m 197-200ilvl and have 30k health… everything I fight has 40k health, and everytime I get above 1300 I drop 50 points… 3 nights of playing… like 6 hours of arena And I’m 70 points lower than when I started.
I can’t do anything with the damage I have available to me in this gear, even when we line up a fear-stormbolt-hoj on the enemy healer.
Most of the time I’m just cowering in defensive stance because everyone in this bracket is stuck at 1250 rating with 40k health. We just keep getting gear checked every time we advance a few games and lose all we earned and then some.
Makes me laugh, I’ve played arena since Wotlk and I’ve never been stuck below 1400… seems impossible.
I need something that can be effective in 200ilvl gear, or a comp that can.
I know that feeling brother, sadly the only thing we can do is try to get blizzard to change the terrible tier gear system, that is made to make the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. No seriously, it’s a system where you just get more decked and scaled with verse the higher you get, and it’s given to people who are already god tier at the game, so late comers, alts, or new players like us are crushed in 1 hit at low levels. We are then used as a safety net for those who have already monopolized the arena system.
If you are 200 ilevel and can’t climb to 1400 it’s a gameplay issue. Post replays and ask for help. There’s going to be dog games where u just lose but ppl aren’t sub 1400 because they can play the game. And I want to say majority of boosters are not playing in sub 1400 mmr games.
Well, you know, each expansion is different. The competition is a lot higher right now because PVP gear is so powerful. You might have reached your wall for your current skill level. Have you tried looking at guides and watching streams?
Last loss I had, their entire team had 40k health.
It was priest, hunter, dh. They didn’t even need to use CC…, their damage straight up leveled us. This was at 1300. So I hate to say it, but I think you’re only half right
I love how the people up above are saying “Yeah man looks like you’re skill capped, git gud and you’ll break 1400” Whenever he’s saying that most of his losses are against people with a 20 ilvl advantage over him and there’s no way to get more gear because 1400 is gatekept.
Can’t outskill it, can’t out gear it. Uninstall or go PvE to PvP. Trash game
I suggest turning off HP values. I think it’s lowering your morale before the match even really starts.
At the end of the day, they’re 1300 for a reason. The system is still placing them in the 1300 bracket for a reason, despite these alleged gear disparities. If you are playing at an 1800 level, you’ll be 1800 rated. If you are playing at a 1300 level, you will be 1300 rated. The system is pretty fair in that sense.
Agreed, but think about what you just said. We both may be at 1300 skill level, but when they have 20 ilvl over me, how am I supposed to beat that? Doesn’t make sense
Because gear isn’t everything clearly or they would be higher rated. Unless, you think everyone above 1300 rating has more gear than that team? Which, from my recent climb, I can assure you, there are many players that barely have 35k hp in the 1800+ brackets.
He’ll try to contradict anything. Boosters? Nah they don’t exist. Gear disparity? Nah it’s skill dude. Sub Rogues too strong? Just use your CDs dude (this was his actual argument about Sub first 3 weeks). Everyone here on the forum regards him as a troll, don’t take him seriously
For that guy? Just tell him to crawl back to his cave when you see him. For PvP? There’s no way you’re going to get the gear to fight 1400s unless you go PvE OR you do Rated battlegrounds (win x6 times in a row and you’ll reach 1400 ez). The third option is to beg for someone with 40k hp to carry you to 1400.
Even then the hell doesn’t end, the more you climb the more 40Ks you’ll face, at this point in the game I’d uninstall until 9.1. Blizzard is addressing the PvP gear disparity problem in that patch. If you really like world of warcraft and your guy then go PvE. Get into a guild and start raiding/mythic+ with the bois.
If you really want to PvP fair and square, have fun in the game, then look for someone in the lvl 40-49 50-59 bracket and ask them if they want to do battlegrounds. Everyone is scaled in non max level battlegrounds and they’re actually a ton of fun to play in.
Chin up OP. its not impossible. its really really hard, but you have over a decade of arena xp so im sure you can pick out the mistakes very geared players at very low ratings make frequently.
my honest advice? play 2’s. it should be alot more gear-forgiving especially for a warrior. Specifically, grab a rsham/hpal/hpriest (in that order) and play to not-lose. When the gates open, sit on your mount and just avoid slows for as long as possible. do everything you can to get the game to deep dampening. dampening is a great way to equalize a gear disadvantage as long as you arent miles behind on cd’s/mana.
edit: to answer your initial question more directly, rogue or mage are incredibly non gear dependent, especially paired together. Rogues only value is in their cc(which isnt gear dependent for obvious reasons) and fire mages overkill so hard with combust that even a large lack of gear is hardly noticeable. i played rogue/mage 2’s recently with a buddy @ 1800mmr and we were both in greens
Here me out, it might sound crazy, but what if, instead of playing one of the most unbalanced PvP games of all time, we went and played Starcraft 2 instead?
