Give me one reason why blacksmith keys shouldn't be sellable?

And no I won’t accept #nochanges as an answer either.
I can’t think of one negative to this:

  1. Blacksmiths make the keys.
  2. They put what they don’t want to keep on the auction house.
  3. Someone else buys them and uses them on locked chests and lock boxes.

Also worth mentioning is blacksmithing is VERY expensive on some servers, especially pvp servers where crafting ingredient prices(and everything else…) command a premium so this would help blacksmiths make some extra gold.

This change would be so easy for blizzard to make as well.

Who’s with me?

Because then rogues wouldn’t make tear threads on the forums about how they shouldn’t have to roll on locked chests in dungeons. I would really hate for those to go away.

we don’t care whether you accept it as an answer or not.

It would seriously devalue lockpicking which is basically the only non-combat utility that a rogue has. Basically nerfing rogues.

I mean, I agree with you, but at the same time pickpocket exists and makes them tons of money.

True I forgot about that, though I’m not sure whether I’d count the ability to make money appear from thin air as utility exactly lol. Useful definitely.

Blacksmiths deserve locked chest rights.

I’m all for it.

Whether its hard or easy is irrelevant. Classic isn’t and open forum for game changes.

why not just post it in trade and COD it to them?

Duly noted.

FWIW I am not a #nochanges dude.

Honestly?

I think it lessens the social ritual of finding rogues and blacksmiths to open boxes.

They wont sell for that much extra $$ anyway because guildies and randos will always open for tips.

Good luck with your campaign. Deep down Im not really caring either way I guess.

What started this? Just lobbying for a side hustle?

Oh…you mean “give me one reason that I will agree with”. We can’t do that. That’s impossible. You can simply disagree with anything, even if others think it’s reasonable.

When did the devs design this detail? In 2004? So only reasons that were known back in 2004 are part of the design.

That’s in 2020. How on earth could a 2004 dev know that? They couldn’t.

Oh, are you talking about a 2020 RE-design of this? You may be right IF there was a 2020 re-design of this feature (and 10,000 other more-important features).

What started it is being pissed that my racial ability is nerfed due to requiring me to be a blacksmith to get full use of it.

I don’t want to level engineeeing but I’d like some of the toys /s

Sorry, only Blacksmiths can use the skeleton keys they create. It’s been like this for 15 years and it ain’t changing.

It would be better game design for sure. Much more convenient.

But this is the version of the game where we don’t change things simply because it’s better design or convenient. You’d have a million other more important quality of life changes before this one.

You might not accept it as an answer, but frankly I don’t care. You don’t make decisions here. Your acceptance is irrelevant.

If it was not on during vanilla, it should not be in classic.

You could always level up a rogue as alt make pick-locking service, or make COD trades.

You could go out in the world and farm material, do not need to always rely on AH.

Why is Classic WoW?

Yeah but stoneform sort of makes up for that, dont you think?
