Give Hunter's Mark some love

I like how it lets me see those pesky rogues, but I would really like to have some bonus attack power or some proc of sorts added to Hunter’s Mark, similar to the original version.

There are some conduits that add some modifiers to hunters mark like that.

Ahh, okay. I am not yet at that point in gameplay, so I didn’t realize it. I kept using Hunter’s Mark on mobs until I realized that it didn’t do anything useful. Now I know, just not yet.

no thanks, i was happy to take it off my bars for pve. it having nothing tied to it, is nice. if you play with it at all in bfa you would understand how awful it was to actually use.

It is practically the same thing in Classic if it has bonuses, so I don’t find anything wrong with it.

its off the global cooldown in classic, so you could macro it to your shots. its on the gcd in bfa onward. which is why evryone hated it.

I think it should give some sort of benefit to damage. But people are insistent they don’t want to press a button.

Yep.

I sure don’t. Not that one at least.

Hunters Mark benefitting damage only works with a CD.

Otherwise it reduces your AOE potential from balancing, and is another global before you are doing damage.

Did they ever re balanced the damage of any abilities after removing the damage bonus from Hunter’s Mark? If not then that would indicate it’s just a straight loss of single target damage.

Are you seeing any indication right now that Hunters are doing poorly on single target compared to other DPS?

If not, where is the issue?

Beta is beta. Spells being added/removed and tuning adjustments made during beta have no bearing on balance post-release. Live tuning is what matters now.

Tuning will happen. MM will be tuned around its performance. It is better in the long run to be tuned without Hunters Mark than with it.

If we want Hunters Mark to work well with tuning it needs to be on a CD instead of theoretical 100% uptime on every target stealing globals throughout dungeons and raids.

It’s not about “Not wanting to push a button”. It’s about not wanting to push that button just to “buff” all our other damage against 1 specific target and being balanced around having a buff with 100% up time, meaning our damage potential without it would be nerfed by 5%.

What gave you the impression they were going to just add 5% damage to hunters in general? It could very well be that without it, they think we’re right were we’re supposed to be. If we had it, we could have gotten a 5% nerf in beta. Sometimes the damage in beta comes from not being nerfed.
