Or, better yet, don’t. They don’t read these forums anyway.
Spoke the troll.
Fantastically put. What you want isn’t automatically right.
Up doot for vanguard 4th spec if u supposedly listening blizz then LISTEN TO THIS WE WANT IT BACK WE wanna be spartans mofo
Articulate, concise, to the point. It’s a masterpiece of comedy.
Dude how did you miss the best part?
Yes, this. Very much.
I liked the flavor of a sword and board dps. If they didnt bake pally threat into spec and still had a buff to turn their threat on even that I would take.
They straight up said it’s never happening after they announced it was being deleted, sadly. Given the state of Arms, and that they never properly balanced Gladiator even when it was around, it’s just more nails in that coffin.
It might cause some elitist in Arena to die , so no can do . Suffer well
Would be great to see this looked at again as a possibility, though. I loved being able to sword and board dps.
Yes!! Sadly I did not play a warrior on WoD but I would have love to try a spec within a spec that is such a great idea too bad they took it away like a lot of content that just get randomely delited. Its just sad for new players and casual players.
Maybe a talent option to replace Avatar on a longer cooldown but to be more impactful for single target?
I might be misremembering, but isnt this beside the point?
After ages of tank shortages, devs introduced Glad stance as what seemed like an olive branch. That you could familiarize yourself with one spec, and that spec could gave both a tank and dps option without even the need to change your action bar.
It didnt help with the tank shortage, because the problem isnt tanks, its dungeons and pug dps. But thats also beside the point.
I think it was more than that. Specifically, it was a way to keep the exact same rotation, and action bar, and do DPS. Everyone was always told “If you are new, try DPS, its less pressure”. Then we consistently had a shortage of tanks. With glad stance one could say “Go prot. You can dps our raid nights and learn to tank at the same time.”
It didnt work, and Im pretty sure thats why it was scrapped.
It did work, though, they just didn’t want to continue supporting it going into Legion because they would have to balance around it in a way that made it like OG feral. The stance to switch into it when not in combat was the easiest implementation, but they were big on ‘pruning’ still during that time, so it got cut away.
It objectively did not work… as in, it didnt help alleviate the tank shortage by getting more people to play prot.
I recall playing Glad in WoD, and it was the best time I had in WoD as a warrior. I loved the game play that-wile was still not the best dps spec, gave you utility of the def warrior to compensate. Playing it in pvp was a blast because while you were never invulnerable in that stance, it did make the fights more interesting with the utility and a nice stratifying shield slam crit to boot. Just defending a base and seeing 1-2 enemys showing up gave you a split second choice to go attack or defend. (night elf’s could cheat this with shadowmeld and flip mid fight). But even then just having a dps spec that was more of a support class and less face roll was a nice change of pace. did it replace arms or furry? Of course not! But it was still so much fun to play.
I hope one day we might get it back and it might be just as fun as it was. Till then, I will be saving up shield transmogs and look upon my wall of disk above my fire pit, pipe with bubbles in hand waiting for the day I will need them again.
Utility specs would be awesome in my opinion, but now everyone has a meltdown if every DPS spec isn’t within 5% of each other.
