There’s no reason dks shouldn’t have this option. Both are technically undead so it would still fit the fantasy. You can even talent into Sanlyn now.
Cmon blizz.

You’re not a Hunter. No
Neither are paladins, and they can use the skin
I think it’s more the way it is because DKs and DH already have eye glow that’s more on brand for their hero class lore based origins than to limit just specific classes tbh. I haven’t checked the barbershop options in a while, can you change DK eye color at all?
Unfortunately not, which i also think you should be able to do green, red and blue to match what dk spec you’re playing. More options would just be great.
I can see the eyes matching the spec that would be a cool detail they could add.
Yes, I’m all for it. It’s not a problem to give this skin to the blood elf death knights. Even the red eyes with the blue effect isn’t a problem.
The dark ranger skin is crap. It’s basically a normal skin turned white. The DKs have the good undead skins.
So how about instead just give ALL DKs the ability to change the color of their eyes to fit their chosen school of… DK-dom (you know what I mean), respectively, blue for Frost, Green of Unholy and Red for Blood.
Works in theory, but in practice it’d just mean DKs get 3 eye colors. There wouldn’t actually be any correlation to the spec the DK’s in.
Yes, in one specific case: night elf death knights CAN use the Night Warrior options. You can either use the standard blue glowing eyes, or the full blown black eyes.
Demon hunters however cannot do this.
And yes, I totally understand why demon hunters in particular cannot use that option. However, the fact that NE DKs have the option open to them if you have that customization option unlocked just goes to show that this is very much doable. I feel like it would be one of the most trivial things in the world to add it in for the elf races that have the dark ranger options.
I know some of the older coding for the game can be a mess at times as some of it is 20+ years old, but compared to some of the other requests that have been made over the years and/or required a ton of work to finally get implemented (all the cross faction stuff for example), I’d have to imagine implementation of the dark ranger skins would be far from hard to do.
Anyone can use the skin except for DH and DK. It’s not hunter exclusive.
I’m convinced the only reason it’s not available to DKs is that it breaks on them because the pale skin and red eyes are still joined together. They ought to put in the effort to separate them, give them to DKs, and make the skins actually change to fit every face option; I mean that as in a fem belf or velf with freckles will have them disappear if you use the Darkfallen skin because it was meant for NPC use and only matches their first face option.
It was never exclusive to hunters, just as draenei’s eredar options aren’t exclusive to warlocks, because non-hero classes have never had exclusive barber options (skin, hair, eyes, etc. not things like druid forms and warlock minions). There are people on this board whose avatars are Darkfallen nelf druids, are you going to ignore them?
All the posts trying to gatekeep DKs from getting Darkfallen options or other eye colors are needlessly negative and arbitrary, no better than when the helf brigade desperately argued against belves having blue eyes until the option was datamined for 9.0.
Maybe not, but they got the option to make it look that way. Same with belfs I guess, when you pick the golden eyes for your pala or the green eyes for your lock.
My discipline priest uses this skin. Why shouldn’t a DK be able to? lol
Makes sense to me;
Clearly you don’t know that a Warrior, Rogue and even Monk can have that…
Because classes used to be unique…every class used to have its own thing that made it stand out and separately from all the others. Now…
