While im happy for all the MM-Hunters, i think it would be just nice if Blizzard can give Frostmages also a choice to keep their perma pet instead of lonely winter.
If we use IV then, we would just enhance it <3
Bonus-points if you create some more talent-nodes for the pet (like a small area).
Please make the pet-lovers-frostmahes happy again Blizzard! <33

I mean now is definitely the time to ask since blizzard is obviously caving in and giving everybody what they want. Maybe we can also get follower style mythic plus dungeons and we can unlock all of the armor classes for all of the regular classes so that we can cross mog outfits. oh, and if we could also give death nights a healing spec and maybe give druids a fifth spec of some sort, that would be great too
I personally am in favor of giving mages who want to have it as a perma pet the choice to do so, with the same caveat that it has to be specifically specced into and lone winter becomes baked in.
Dear Frostmages unite!
Raiser your voices and let Blizzard know you want to have the option back!
Ofc it should NOT be +the only+ playstyle. Just an option for people who like a perma pet option!
I just want the spell to actually be called Summon Water Elemental again. Keep the icy veins haste buff as part of summoning it, just like things are now. But the water ele should be the star of the show. It’s a staple of the series, going back to the first RTS. It shouldn’t play second fiddle to a stat boost.
For me it was the opposite. I started my first mage before the water ele existed. I loved it when it was first added as a cooldown, and then later hated it as a permanent pet. Lonely winter got me back to the petless mage I’d originally loved but no more water ele at all was a huge bummer. My wish was always that lonely winter doesn’t fully get rid of it, but just makes it a cooldown again. So people could still have their permanent pet if they wanted. Or hell, do the opposite if need be. Make it a cooldown by default with an option for it to be permanent for some other cost. It just doesn’t seem like that difficult an idea to implement.
I don’t know why they removed it in the first place. Everyone was happy with the status quo.
People who didn’t want the Water Elemental could do without it if they took Lonely Winter - if you feel it’s wasting a talent point then make it so that the talent is a binary one that lets you choose +15% to some spells or the Water Elemental.
It was such an unnecessary change when the talent system can accommodate both people that don’t want the Water Elemental and those that do.
