Was thinking about some racials for them if they’re ever made playable. I thought it would be neat to emphasize calling your friends for help to highlight the kelfin’s ability to make fast friends and to emphasize that it’s not just kelfin that are in the Horde but also the other races of the Unshackled.

Racials:

-Forever Unshackled: Remove all snare and movement impairing effects.

-Sea Giant Buddy: Summon Telur who’ll knockback surrounding enemies a few yards and stun them for one second.

-Makrura Buddy: Summon Mak who’ll give you access to your bank.

-Murloc Buddy: Summon Mrrl, a vendor who sells unique, fun items like fireworks and a puntable seashell for small amounts of silver.

-Friends in Deep Places: While swimming, summon a Son of Gral, a large, rideable shark that moves extremely fast for a few seconds. Passively allows underwater breathing.

(The ability numbers are intentionally vague and have no CD timers because I have no knowledge about how to balance them)

Thought about it a bit at work today, all that it would take to make the Unshackled not just pro-Horde but anti-Alliance would be to talk to an orc of Thrall’s Generation who grew up at Durnholde keep, about humans.

I have a feeling that in some future war campaign, there will be more involvement with the Gilblins. A lot of their quotes are very telling. One thing to note. The Wowpedia page for Neri has finally been updated.

Oh I was wrong then, Lenu isn’t the only one who complains about walking. Though it’s still probably just that they aren’t used to it rather than it being detrimental.

Yea, but that would feel forced. Imagine a Kelfin stepping foot on the Path of Glory for the first time and finding out the history of that. A lot of those orcs are very much still alive from that generation.

The Eternal Palace part with Queen Azshara is finally up in Raid Finder. I’m unsure if the quest to defeat her would be a requirement for any further questlines involving the Kelfin or the Ankoan in the future, but I will look into doing it just in case it is needed for anything. You can never be too careful when it comes to potential allied races.

Nothing is for certain, but I know what I would like from Gilgoblins if they were to be playable.

Bioluminscent hair and fins. Possibly eyes.
Obviously good model updates.
Possibly being able to be druids and monks.

But one thing I am actually more interested in than all of these in many ways in the lore. I am curious to know about the origins of these guys and how they ended up like this. I’d like to see how Hobart may interact with them and well as their general interactions with the horde. This I am more curious of than many things.

I kind of have the beginning theory that Hobart created the Gilgoblins, but the Kelfin have enough of a society they may have been around for much longer. It would be interesting to reveal that kelfin were the original form of goblins, and the landdwellers are the offshoot- and Hobart’s experiment made goblins revert back to aquatic forms but wrecked their minds as well.

I am also expecting something to happen with Mechagnomes. Many have speculated that Gelbin Mekkatorque will become a cyborg as he is being kept alive by a mechanical device. When/if something like this happens then I would also expect something to happen with Gilgoblins due to the suspicious quotes made by them. It may not be 8.2.5, but closer to 8.3.

I sometimes wonder what it would have been like if the roles were reversed. What if we were meeting Gilgnomes and Aqua Mekkatinkers?
