With how big a difference different ranked gilded Vials make when using Alchemy, It seems a little silly how hard it is to craft the higher tier vials. The rank difference on crafting with different vials seem to make a bigger difference than the actual herbs do! As an alchemist I find it insane how much I have to pay for 2-3 star rank gilded vials just to be able to up the tier of one of my recipes. The skill level up bonuses they give to alchemy are too huge for something crafted by another crafter, especially for the cost. I was just at the action house and it costs 10,000 gold to buy 50 rank 2 vials, and going as the average alchemy recipe requires about 5 vials, the cost is astronomical. I don’t currently have a Jewelcrafter, but going by the price of vials, I have to assume the cost of making 2-3 star rank vials is huge as well. As an Alchemist I feel it is unfair to have to rely on something so expensive that is 100% required to do my craft. I miss the days I could just buy vials from a vendor.
I actually started off as an alchemist and swapped to Jc when I saw how expensive the vials were in the ah. Wanted to be on the other side of that equation 
…and then you probably found the mats to make them are just as expensive, making it not worth it to craft them in the first place.
Feels bad, man.
There’s a few reasons why they cost so much that could be fixed.
To make rank 2 vials is relatively easy. You need 6 glittering glass, one ambivalent amber and 3 rank 2 crushed gemstones. The problem is the glittering glass supply. To get 6 glittering glass you need to crush usually more than 200 ore. And you also need a fairly constant supply of glittering glass to fill patron orders - so glittering glass is always in short supply. Crushing the ore will probably get you the supplies of ambivalent amber and crushed gemstones provided you crush rank 2 ore.
In order for the price to drop they would need to double or triple the drop rate of glittering glass.
To make rank 3 gilded vials is harder. You need a fairly maxed jewelcrafter with three rare tools and a big supply of rank 3 bismuth in addition to a better supply of gilded glass.
