Gilblins as new allies?/The Unshackled?

At 35:09 During the livestream with Jermey Feasle, it was mentioned that Gilblins are going to be some of thew new allies helping Horde when we get into Nazjatar. They will be part of an organization called the unshackled. Now looking at Gilblins, they seem like they would almost be the perfect allied race for goblins. Depending on exactly how they flesh out the lore and develop these characters.

When I was checking wowmodelviewer I also noticed that Gilblins have a number of custom options and a full set of goblin animations. How likely is it you think that they may become an allied race?

8.2 dating has revealed a female Gilgoblin model.

I tried to tell people. They kept saying the chances of Gilblins happening was zero. Now you see one of the big reasons why I’ve had faith in them becoming an AR.

Yeah, I could see Gilblins being the goblin allied race for sure. I guess they’d be Horde.

If they can be druids(hopefully). Perhaps they may get a sea form that looks like a naga.

I don’t think a druid can turn into a Naga, since Naga are corrupted servants of N’zoth.

Maybe some gnarly looking fish thing though for sure!

It’s likely that if Gilblins are a forthcoming allied race, a new “The Shackled” rep will be required for them, along with the new war campaign quests and the storyline quests for Nazjatar.

The new Jinyu-like race may have a rep for them also and similar requirements for the Alliance if they were to become an allied race as well. Especially if they meet and join up with the Jinyu in Pandaria to repopulate their race.

Regardless, as I said in a few threads, just keep your eyes peeled for clues and talk it out in the different allied race megathreads on the forums. You never know what we’ll find in 8.2 regarding future allied races. ^^

Not me.
I hoped we might get Vulpera but I wasn’t counting on them being a Goblin allied race. These Gilblins seem to be more like all the other lame allied races so…maybe they’ll be a thing.

Theres no reason why we can’t have both Vulpera and Gilblins playable. I’d love to have both, myself. ^^

A thought did occur to me in that once 8.2 comes around, we should see if there are any Gilblin female models around. If we see any, that is big news for the Gilblin fans. ^^

Yes. I did notice that Gilblins literally have a full set of animations for male goblins and they do have some custom options. A few hair changes and skin changes. Will definitely want to keep an eye out for this. There aren’t as many custom options as Vulpera, but there is plenty there to indicate lots of work had to be done.

They can do what they want with them, Id never create any characters of those races.
