hi, i’d like to give a wow token to a friend so he can sub during the next month, is it possible?
This might help: How Do I Gift Blizzard Products
ty, i checked and apparently i cant give subscriptions to friends, ill give him gold instead so he can buy a token and get sub
You can gift Bnet Balance and they can use that to buy a sub.
Or just give them gold directly and they can buy a token.
Tokens are cheap right now so gold is the better option.
Edit: So if you dig deep you’ll see you can gift Sub Time.
Gold is still way cheaper, so contact a GM and get some free game time so you can make this happen.
You can also gift a friend game time!
I did this just the other day.
Is it Game Time or Bnet Balance you are gifting?
Just note that if he doesn’t currently have active game time, he won’t be able to get the gold from the mail to buy the token. That said, if you do choose to go that route, Blizzard can sometimes help out by granting a little bit of game time to get the gold from the mail to buy the token.
Otherwise, gifting a block of game time instead of a subscription is probably the next easiest thing
I spend gold on a friend’s game time when he needs help with it. I buy a token in-game and then add it to my bnet balance and then go to this link and select 30 days, gift. It’s the easiest way for me to do it if his account is lapsed and has no active time on it.
Game time itself.
The email you nominate will get a message saying:
You are receiving this e-mail because (person gifting you) has purchased World of Warcraft Game Time - 180 Days for you as a gift!
Yeah I did some digging, it’s quite confusing going the google route.
Thanks for the info!
/hugs
Another neat trick, if you don’t have their e-mail address is to choose the Gift option and then send it to your own e-mail. So say you have the friend on Discord etc., you can just give them the code that’s sent to your e-mail without having to ask them for their e-mail
Then they just claim the code in their account section of the website.
Go to walmart buy a game time card and give them the number.
It’s possible that the person who needs time could post in the Support forums, which if I recall did not historically require a subscription (in case your issue is to do with getting a subscription, probably). Then OP could post confirming that he wanted to loan his friend the gold for game time.
They might check both accounts and decide that it’s worth giving the friend a small window of time to login and complete the exchange and buy a token. They allowed me a full 24 hours once when someone had mailed me gold, but it’s best to confirm that they’ll help if you can; I didn’t know I’d run out already.
You’re correct that an active subscription isn’t needed for the CS forums. But they don’t really need to post there to make it happen. In fact, there are no GMs on the forums, so the gold recipient would still need to put in a ticket to see if they can be granted a little game time.
As long as the player hasn’t made a habit of asking for a little game time for this, then Blizz is actually pretty generous and will grant them a day or so
Just in case someone stumbles on this and needs a link for putting in a ticket, here’s the one to use:
Apologies, when I posted my issue there was assistance. I don’t know if it was a crazy one off or if it was early enough to be different.
Thanks for the links for people who want to get help, though.
Thank you this was the most helpful of the comments! I could not figure it out without your link.
