Gift of N'Zoth resolution?

No, they didn’t… It is just your hopeful interpretation of generic statements otherwise give me the specific source for a reward for keeping it.

They did in numerous interviews and social media posts.

The whole reason for this thread is to ask Blizzard for clarification on their hints and teases regarding a payoff for keeping the Gift.

I’m pretty sure they offhandedly confirmed that nothing will ever really come of i, except a toy that makes you hostile to everybody in world pvp like the Censure in MoP

They said that it will only ever be removable by completing the quest to have it purged.

Like I stated just keep your hopeful interpretation going of some vague statements of something that was just meant to be fun.

That toy has nothing to do with the Gift, however.

They said that was the only way of removing it at the time that 8.3 was released. But they also said there’d be a payoff to keeping it and that has yet to eventuate outside of some very slightly altered conversation text and the whispers.

Not everyone does pve or raids… sooo…

Having the same type of warning pop-up that you’re about to make a permanent decision that they used for choosing between Saurfang and Sylvanas was in itself an implicit indication to the audience that there’d be a different payoff for taking the other route. After all, there are MANY one-time quests in the game that phase you or give you temporary cosmetic appearances, and you don’t get that kind of warning for all those quests, even though turning in those quests is also a “permanent” decision for your character.

For Blizzard to have no payoff to this IS misleading. If they didn’t intend for a payoff, then they should never have inserted a pop-up about making a permanent decision you can’t take back.

I feel like the average developer would have had fun designing an alternative quest route for the gift when N’zoth arrived, even if it didn’t involve any long chains or anything. They couldn’t even close it out with one separate quest? It doesn’t come across as some kind of clever troll on Blizzard’s part, it just looks lazy.

Think a lot of this would be solved if we just got a yes or no answer. People might be upset but at least we’d know. The hints are something, but then again no one has stated there would be a reward. Just some kinda yes or no answer.

In case you still do not have the “Servant of N’zoth” title, get in a cta group and if you have a few friends with 120 characters. Ask them to let you kill them, you will get it that way. Personally l did hit and run on my rogue for the first 4 kills and I was like, this is not gonna happen. So l asked some guildies for help & got it. Be sure to drop the CTA group so they wont kill yah.

Everytime I try an alliance dh swoops in and murders me. :sleepy:

I still have mine. I’d like to know if it’s going to pay off too–it’s really ruining my t-mog

Keep the faith. No matter the outcome.

I’ll just use my toy of anything ever comes of it. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

if they keep the visual for the next expansions like “if i maintain that stuff in my head forever it will always stay there”, then i think i cant complain about it

Personally so long as they give the option of hiding the visual form of the “gift” I’d be fine without taking the time to actually “complete” the gift of N’Zoth. However, they should really complete it. Well if they actually take pride in their work that is.

BTW @blizzard, please provide a response after around a quarter to half a yr of being rudely silent. At least from what I’ve seen.
