Ghosts of K’aresh – Every Class Gets Fed Except Demon Hunters

I’ve held my tongue long enough.

With the reveal of Patch 11.2, Blizzard laid out a smorgasbord of changes and updates for nearly every single class and specialization. There are detailed reworks, philosophical overhauls, mechanical adjustments, talent redesigns—hell, even niche specs you forgot existed are getting some love. Shadow Priests continue to evolve. Outlaw Rogues get refined. Warriors are being given new tools to push boundaries.

But Demon Hunters?

Not. Even. A. Footnote.

Not a sentence. Not a comment. Not even a placeholder line like, “More updates coming soon!” Havoc and Vengeance players didn’t just get left out—we got actively ignored. It’s as if the entire class vanished into the Void along with K’aresh itself.

Let’s be honest here: Demon Hunter is one of the most undertuned, neglected, and painfully stale classes in the game right now. We’ve been stuck with the same handful of rotational buttons and borrowed power crutches since Legion. Havoc’s spec tree is a tangle of passive fluff and zero identity. Vengeance is desperately clinging to relevance with tuning band-aids instead of structural care.

Meanwhile, we’re watching entire specs be reborn. We see druids becoming thematic masters of their class fantasy. We see paladins being given reworks with attention to flow, feedback, and feel. And we? We’re still pretending that Eye Beam spam is a “rotation.”

Where is the vision? Where is the attention? Where is any indication that Demon Hunters matter going forward?

We’ve gone two expansions now without any meaningful mechanical overhaul or identity update. Our spec trees feel like copy-paste jobs from beta builds. Our hero talents are either uninspired or make zero effort to evolve the gameplay in a meaningful way. You can’t even slap the “but they’re already strong” excuse on this anymore—we’re not dominating charts, we’re not top-tier in M+, and we’re definitely not being taken seriously in PvP.

Ghosts of K’aresh was your chance to fix this. To even acknowledge this. And you didn’t. And I cannot overstate how insulting that is.

Demon Hunters deserve better. Havoc deserves better. Vengeance deserves better. If you’re not going to invest in the class, say it plainly at least then we can stop holding out false hope.

Do better.

maybe I am tripping, or maybe I was looking at the wrong thing, but I’m pretty sure I saw DH changes datamined.

maybe pvp changes

they’re in here somewhere. not a complete overhaul or anything though.

All the talk of a new spec and new lore wasn’t enough
dam really can’t ever make people happy. I enjoy DH as is, I don’t need my havoc to get 13 new buttons, the rotation is fun and the passive fluffs keep it simple, I hope DH continues this way and honestly hope other classes get redesigned to fit the standards of DH.

If true, a new spec could be the shot of adrenaline this class has been dying for. The Demon Hunter fantasy has so much potential that has never truly been explored past “angry elf goes zoom zoom.” Leaning into the void, shadows, or even a more psionic edge would give us something fresh maybe even a hybrid DPS/support angle, or a ranged/melee blend that finally breaks our two-button stigma. It could breathe life into the class, especially if it feels like a true evolution of the Illidari identity.

But let me be very clear; this cannot be the excuse to abandon Havoc and Vengeance.

If Blizzard drops a meta-defining third spec while Havoc and Vengeance remain untouched and stale, all it does is canonize the abandonment of the existing ones. Players will flock to the new hotness, not because it’s interesting but because it’s simply functional. That’s not healthy class design. That’s a bandage over a broken system.

We still need:

  • Talent tree overhauls that actually make real choices matter.
  • Hero Talents that enhance our gameplay, not just fluff it.
  • A Havoc redesign that respects player skill and stops relying on passive RNG procs or Eye Beam spam as filler.

So yes, if this Void spec is real, I’m excited. I want to play it. I want to see Demon Hunter finally evolve.
But don’t let the new toy be the reason the older ones collect dust.

Fix the foundation. Then build the tower.

New spec ! Bet it will be a support spec like Aug!

LMAO if you people actually think you’re getting a 3rd spec I really feel sorry for you.

This is gonna age well, especially when it does come out that we will get a third spec XD eggs gonna be on your face

There’s nothing, it’s just some minor talent changes for Vengeance

Don’t think it will be out this expansion. Maybe next one when we no longer have hero talent. Because if blizzard add a third spec this expansion they will also need need to make another hero talent tree and shuttle room to have one of the existing spec to use the new hero talent tree and make sure both spec and class tree work with it.

No longer have Hero talents? What are you talking about?

Hero talents are a part of the game forever.

You’re not wrong to expect it and they did pull something unheard off in most MMO popular game, mid expansion with the Augmentation added… saw a surge of players returning just to just try it as well as the new race and Evoker class.

I am trying to keep my hopium tame since it would take an enormous effort to pull off but Blizz has the resources and the talented people to make it happen, but the most probable scenario or expectation from anyone who play in MMOs long enough would be in the next expansion. Augmentation being added in mid expansion was such a new and welcome unexpected move… I will never forget it but it’s one of those things one can’t except all the time even if the theme and the story are lining up perfectly for it. (IMO)

But just incase:
:crossed_fingers: :grimacing:

My thing is if they want to introduce a new spec this late in the expansion (much like Augmentation) They want to get it in front of players sooner rather than later, theyve had since the launch of 11.1 all the way into 11.2 to cook on this supposed spec thats being dubbed as “Entropy” for now according to some fake photos. So who knows, maybe its the last thing thats gonna be introduced hence why there is nothing for us in the patch notes currently, patch is scheduled to come out in August. So only thing we can do is keep an eye on the PTR with updates and hope for the best, and if nothing comes out of it, well see ya at gamescom

Oooo I didn’t know oh… I hope they do… I need something to make a lot of my friends come back to WoW and this could be one of the reason they want to comeback. They did look very interested in this patch… crossing my fingers and hoping for the best!
:crossed_fingers:

The competition in 2025 and some 2024 games, are really intense, there so many options to play for every kind of players… Blizz needs to keep it up if they want to at least keep good retention numbers. (IMO not that I know anything about that lolol)

these are tooltip clarifications not changes

I can’t honestly say that I understand the problems with DHs to where it would require a massive overhaul or whatever. I find the playstyles to be enjoyable and it is the class I have the easiest time with, overall.

but I also don’t play any content where it actually matters I suppose. I’m not doing Mythic+ 50 dungeons or Ultra Mythic Super Raids and whatnot. so maybe I just don’t have the context necessary to understand.

You’re getting reborn, with void. Because void is clearly the best thing ever and DH need to get with the times.

Yes this is sarcasm and yes I agree with most of your points.

What?

As someone who, to quote, said that the concept of Augmentation Evoker was ‘Milspec Copium’?

. . . I’m gonna sit this debate out.
