Would it be asking too much for Ghost Wolf to get the same treatment druids travel form got in that it’s movement speed was boosted to 100% outside of combat?

+1 It’s really not a big ask. It’s a small QOL thing that Shamans would greatly appreciate.
I feel like there used to be a glyph that let this happen outdoors back in the day. It would have to have been in Cataclysm because that’s the last time I played before coming back from my looong break.

Ghostwolf has always been the poor man’s version of druid travel form.
Its dispellable
It’s less speed
You arent immune to poly
It doesnt break roots or snares
3 glyph options vs 1 million druid options
In the beginning you couldnt even use it indoors.
Now indoors is the only advantage over travel.
And wait it gets better. Next xpac all classes can get ghostwolf with a teleport with way better glyph/appearance options.

Also, I would like if ghost wolf gained the ability to fade out of sight after a few secs of being out of combat. This effect is similar to the buff given to shamans while in Ashran if you get a hold of a special item.

i would love this movement speed boost it would be amazing for QoL and if they keep it to out of combat totally wouldnt be OP

I forgot that it didn’t when I came back to the game. This would be a nice QoL change that wouldn’t break anything.

One of your body guards allowed for 100% or more speed boost in ghost wolf in legion, Rehgar comes to mind. It was rather fantastic I recall.

Well, it’s 2024 and the dragonflight expansion and still no 100% ground speed ghost wolf. We can’t fly in that form so I don’t see why druids would complain.
Ashran item buff is just a tease with the 100% ground speed in ashran only so the technology is there, they just clearly don’t want to do it.
It’s funny how everything is based off of druids.
We can’t do this because of Druid.
We can’t do that because Druids will get mad.
Warlock basically has the paladin mount but evil fell looking and no one screaming “but the horse mount is ours!”
So we should be able to have 100% ground speed out of combat.

I just found the thread.
People complain about multiple threads and now complain when you are on just one. Can’t win.
I decided to go back and get all my old legion class hall mounts and just looked up the shaman one…yeah, a 100% speed ghost wolf would have been better.

Blizzard might go for it depending on where they are on their “we cant give anyone except Druids an instant mount!” scale. When I was questing through legion a few years back to get loremaster and my class hall mount, it was a tremendous quality of life upgrade to have that extra 60% move speed from having Rehgar as my assigned bodyguard. I dont think it would even be hard to implement, they already have an in-combat/out-of-combat modifier for travel form so they could use that as well for ghost wolf to eliminate any concern over having super speed in combat (particularly pvp).
I think this was actually a borrowed power at some point that we had to return … +1
