Ghost Hotfixes/Patches

Why do YOU, Blizzard, keep fixing things without addressing them first? You don’t acknowledge any type of problem on your end and just roll a new hotfix or patch out. You are ghosts making changes to a game that we can’t see.

Not all your fixes have been bad. I would just like to know why you never acknowledge the giant issues Classic is having. Why not do the right thing and tell us what you are planning?

Probably because they are trying to fix the worst things fast. People complain when Blizzard says nothing, but they complain even more if a problem is left to go on too long.

They waited till reset to fix WSG dodging. That’s not a quick plan to fix anything. A week to hide the opposite sides numbers/comp is plenty of time. It’s also plenty of time to post/document it.

The guy who does that stuff was probably on vacation. And they dont have anyone to cover for him because they fired them all to make the bottom line look better for shareholders.

They did post about it, it’s in the hotfix thread. They just seemed to forget to update the title to reflect the most recent update.

You are quite right. Complaint about most recent hotfix withdrawn. Sort of. Why not address it before hotfixing/patching it?

Most of the changes they make are not in patch notes.

I can think of a reason or two, but ultimately I don’t think it really matters if they announce it before or after. At worst people come up with a new way to exploit it before it happens, at best people complain about changes days/a week before instead of the day of the patch. I’m generally of the mind to not say anything until you implement the patch, because if something happens that delays the release you just failed at setting the community’s expectations. But there’s good arguments in both directions in regards to that thought process, and I’m not sure there is a perfect all size fits all method of handling it.

I mean, this fix came within 14 days of the problem occurring, that’s not terrible. It’s to Blizzard’s credit that they’re not trying to sweep things under the rug. They’ve been deploying fixes to AV queues as well.

I’d imagine they’re currently working on an AV map fix or spawn change (making teams spawn at nearest GY controlled) right now.

That will be more difficult to roll out though without a patch, especially if the map changes.

Clearly, Blizzard reads these forums, and they see the problems that people are reporting.

I wish they would ghost fix this piece of trash spell batching system that we have so hunter would be playable.
