Gg blizz gg

Warlock who owns the key dies twice on Ventunaxx and rage quits. We 4 man the rest of a +12 Spires (with ease I might add) and he gets the loot.

That. Is. Unforgiveable.

And it makes you look incompetent. Whatever abuse you think may happen if you change this is not worth people getting loot that they absolutely should never have. It completely undermines the game.

Fix it.

i think at the least, if someone leaves a key shouldnt get loot. period. they system should distinguish between leaving and getting kicked.

If. Someone. Leaves. The. Key. So. Should. You.

You are really out here complaining that a system worked as intended, in a way you knew about, but because you wanted loot now you’re mad? You knew going into you would only get one piece of loot after the lock left. You knew that gave you a 20% chance to get loot. This aint a matter of Blizz changing something because they look “incompetent” this is a matter of you not leaving when every mathematical model would tell you that you should have.

Well I guess since he owned the key this was tribute to the King. lol

Why do you stay? I’d bounce, doing with 4 is unfair

And you know this how? Looking over their shoulder when their at the mailbox?

Be careful what you ask for, the fix change for this would probably be no one gets loot.

The mathematical model?

#1 I am completing the twelve for vault.

#2 Mathematically there is an 80% chance against this.

#3 Blizz has turned what shoulda have been a great gaming moment between 4 people into a nightmare scenario.

There is not a good enough reason for a person who isnt participating to get loot.

Why would it give loot to someone no longer in the dungeon? Is this something new or just something unique to M+?

I don’t think anyone who wasn’t in the dungeon should be able to get loot. That… doesn’t make sense to me. We can’t do that with raid bosses if we rez and we’re too far away. We can’t do that with world bosses. So… why M+?

Someone quitting any other dungeon doesn’t get loot if they leave. Why M+? How is that a system working as intended?

Four people left in the group, no one in the group gets the loot. One piece drops from the chest.

Unsure. But this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of this happening.

Sucks he left…but now you get the weekly reward too. It was his key.

jeez no foresight.

Goal: Complete 12 keystones

Methodology: Run 12 M+ dungeons with full pug groups (because obviously if you had organized groups you wouldn’t be complaining right now).

Options:

  1. Run the first 12 keys invited to no matter what happens.
  2. Run the first 12 keys where no one leaves, regardless of how long it takes.
  3. Run the first 12 keys where no one leaves, dps is adequate to time the key, and tank and healer know what they are doing.

Now I don’t full pug so I don’t know how long it takes you to find a group. But since we know option three will take 35*12 minutes to complete dungeons (assuming average key timer of 35 mins) this will be your minimum value.

From the minimum you should be comparing runs to how long they actually will take to debate if it is worth. For instance if it takes you 10 minutes to form a group and a key is looking like it will take an extra 30 mins (as would be expected from a 4 man without great players) just leave and try again.

Its a system working as intended because M+ was made for premade groups. I.e. the group leader invites everyone. Therefore its not comparable to LFD dungeons where Blizz adds you.

Anyone who was in the group when a M+ started, or when a raid / non-M+ dungeon boss is pulled, is eligible for loot even if they leave or are kicked during the fight. It works this way to prevent group leaders from kicking people at the last second to increase their odds of getting the loot themselves.

Why in a premade group must a totally AFK person get loot? You are talking out your rear. What exactly is the logic here? If someone in my premade lost out on loot he wouldnt care cause one of his mates still gets loot.

This makes no sense.

So basically I can make a group bail on it and get a 20% chance of getting loot if the rest of the guys finish the dungeon? Sweet!

Oof, if true this is a huge lack of foresight; leavers should never get loot, don’t reward bad behavior. It’s like praising a puppy after it peed on the carpet.

Also makes the entire loot system for M+ seem pre-determined upon instance creation, folks should explore that a bit.

Did the warlock eat a McRib before???

But why in Mythic+? This guy was DC for twenty minutes. That shouldn’t be hard to program something in for.

My point was, Rhielle tried to compare a computer generated pairing to a human made pairing. Although dungeons are being run, the difference in formation of the group is enough for the two systems to have different loot systems. And they do in fact have different loot systems. Therefore it is the case that you should learn the actual behavior of the system you are using instead of mindlessly complaining after missing out on loot.

A broad answer to this would be that if it DIDN’T work that way then I could just kick everyone else when the final boss is at 2% health and get all the loot for myself. As for why it doesn’t factor in how long someone has been gone or if they simply left rather than got kicked, I have no idea, if Blizz ever does another Q&A it would be a good question to ask them.
