Getting Worn Out

Anyone else in the same camp as me? I was playing a lot the first week, and made it to 38. The last few days have been really slowing down for me though, in terms of both speed of leveling and willingness to play. I was having a lot of fun, but the past few days -

It’s just - UGH

It’s like I HAVE to play, but I’m dragging myself to continue the journey to 60.

I think it’s partially from just getting worn out quickly, since I’ve played pretty continually throughout the years, apart from some breaks, and it’s not like some of those who came back after years of not playing.

It may have even been my class choice, but I feel it’s too late to reroll.

Anyone have any ideas to assist me in reaching 60?

Step 1: take a break.
Step 2: come back, play until (a) it feels like it’s dragging again, or (b) you hit 60.
Step 3: if (a), see Step 1; if (b), congrats!

You’re not SUPPOSED to rush to 60.

I mean… you CAN, but that’s probably part of the reason you’re getting stressed out.

There isn’t even a good amount of End-Game content yet, so why don’t you head back to lower level zones, grind on some Rep, help some other low level players, farm for stuff and generally explore?

This whole “Race to 60” thing has you experiencing the Keeping up with the Joneses stress and it’s silly. This is a game, not a job. You don’t have to race level cap, in fact, this version of the game was never designed to be FUN if you did do that.

Nah. I only play at nights usually to help avoid burnout. Makes me level slower than others, but the game still feels super fresh.

It’s more so the lack of playing time and guildies my level that’s slowing me down, 37 atm. In a surprising twist, a couple of friends came back to play so I’m gonna stick in guild with them, but yeah that’s what’s slowing me down and dragging it a bit. But I fish and cook and make money so it’s all good

I’m not rushing to 60 lol. If I were, I’d probably be in the 50s or 60s so far. I haven’t even been really playing the last few days.

Yep, take breaks. Classic is a marathon, not a sprint.

Played through vanilla on 2004 and many times through private servers, I ALWAYS get that dragging feeling around 40.

Considering I’m not no-lifing the game, I am not getting worn out at all. I still play a whole variety of games with my friends like retail (don’t hate me) along with Classic WoW, Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, and OSRS. Then again I’m super casual at every game, but based off my experience in classic thus far compared to when I was 9 years old playing the game for the first time, I can see how people now would get burnt out if they went super super hard.

It’s a grind, for sure. But, we knew that. This is what creates character investment, you time the time and effort to level. Look, you wont even reroll because you have all that time invested.

Do something else to level apart from what you have been doing. Run dungeons if you haven’t been, group up with people to make it more sociable so you are having fun while grinding!

Start an alt just to take a break when you need it (like now), try that second class. Maybe you’ll even like it more. There is no reason you have to get that first class to 60 right away.

I don’t think this game was designed with you hitting sixty in a single stretch. Take a week or two off, freshen up a bit, if you truly hit the bottom of the burn out you’ll regret it.

I would suggest that people only try to race to 60 if they think the race itself is fun. Otherwise, take your time. Classic is forever.

Why are speeding to 60 dude?

being lvl 38 already is a lot of playing… any normal person would be burnt out.

I didn’t get to 60 for 6 months in vanilla… and I wouldn’t expect anyone to get, out side of playing a ridiculous amount, 60 in under 2 months.

You don’t have to sprint the whole way. It’s week 2, phase 1. There are 5 more phases to go.

38 in a week is pretty hardcore. Chill out and enjoy the world. Don’t play all day either, do something else… Playing WoW an imbalanced amount can lead to burn out really fast. You start feeling like it’s all meaningless.

If you slow down it’ll feel better. When you start feeling like you need to keep playing at all hours to keep progressing, the fun stops right there.

Gotta be 60 when bgs drop :sunglasses::sunglasses::smirk:

I’m not doctor but you should take a break. :man_shrugging:

Classic is about the process of leveling, not the end result. If you want to race to the end, then you are in for some real pain because 50-60 may take as long as 1-50.

this is why so many alts existed its like being with the same woman for too long
