Getting to Elwynn as a Night Elf =)

I’ve taken a huge interest to Hard Core (Bigger than I thought I would!) and I’m wondering if, since the trek through wetlands isn’t…desirable…would swimming along the coast still work?

No, because you will die in wesfall, unless you have a high enough level.

The only real way is a portal or being summoned.

Most realms have people offering the service, if you have a gold or two.

I’ve had no issue getting into Westfall during busy hours. Usually enough ppl there killing those dastardly murlocs. You can also call out in general for some assistance there, might be some nice folks there who would give you a hand.

Right now I’m a level 10 priest and it’s become my favorite so far, thank you for the advice =)

It does… if you swim to Longshore you can just walk up on it.

The murlocs are level 15 so be prepared, but I did manage to sneak a level 7 rogue through there, I got lucky as another quester was occupying the murlocs, sneaking past the bird and coyotes was easier. It’s right near Elwynn so not terribly far to run through.

Isn’t this just as risky as going through Wetlands? There are only really two danger points in the journey from Menethil Harbour to Loch Modan… those dang alligators along the road and the spiders just before the mountain path.

If the premise here is that you need someone to distract the murlocs for you, presumably you could do the same in Wetlands. There’s people going back and forth on that road all the time, I wonder if you could just piggy back on that. It’s a risk either way, but the run from Wetlands takes much less time than a swim down along the coast.

I’m not making a statement as to which is better, just speculating. I’m curious myself. I waited until level 17 to make the run and had no issues, but as a Warrior without access to 2h weapon training, that was an annoying 17 levels :stuck_out_tongue:

If you run straight through the middle and up the path to the road, there is like 2 murlocs and one running one, if you don’t get hit by the running one, you should be safe. You are far enough from the little murluc village to make it to the road, if you run down the middle path.

The running one is the pain though, if it catchers you, then the other two murlocs come at you. So, only about 3 that you need to really worry about. If you can take three level 15 murlocs, its easy, if not Ruuuun!

If you have a gold or two I think that might be the best and easiest way.

Sadly I don’t have any gold =(, This is my first character past 10 (11 now) BUT, I’m happy to say I made it to westfall and some people questing helped me through the murlocs on the beach =)

Somewhere there’s a vid on a level 1 doing this. You can safely do at level 7 or abowe. I’ll look it up.

in my experience the crocs are just too dang close to the road :expressionless: in softcore i would always die at least once. so never trying it on HC.

conversely, there is almost always someone questing at the murloc camp in westfall, so it’s no big deal. just don’t do it at like 3AM or something I guess.

Here it is.

I haven’t died to those crocs since 2004 and routinely do that run on level 10-12 characters. However, I promise you, if I were to attempt that on Hardcore, I would die first try!

Anyway, I was mostly just curious/speculating. I think either run isn’t something I want to risk. You can get to level 17 at least in Darkshore and that’s enough to make the run yourself. With that said, Darkshore quests are the worst!!

Just swim.

You forgot about the orcs before loch modan pass

I’ve never had any trouble with these. Sometimes there’s one who spawns on top of that hill before the first tunnel I guess? I’ve run a lot of characters through that pass over the years…

But you’re right, I suppose there are three danger points instead of the original two I suggested.

I’m not counting the raptors, if you die to them, you deserved it :stuck_out_tongue:

Just swim to the boat that’s sticking out of the water in westfall aboard it then run north right down the center climb the hill but stick to the edge of it you can get there with ease.

I typically swap zones at 6, Wetlands would be too sketchy.

Safest is to pay for summon …

I think even a 15 murloc at 6 would be sketch, but I guess as folks were saying you’d only have to dodge the one pack so the risk is mitigated

Summon prices are highway robbery!! I think I saw them going for 50s last time I played, I don’t have that kind of cash at level 6 haha. Warlocks… geeeeeez! :stuck_out_tongue:
