Hey guys I was wondering how to go about getting the best PVP gear?

I believe “raid” gear was the best you could’ve gotten for pvp. The ones that top the kills in BG’s were mostly raid gear.
Now with this new xpansion, I don’t know

Pay an arena pro for a carry.
Well, in this expansion you need to hit 2400 in rated PVP, but in 2 weeks gear won’t be rating locked so you can play the game how you like and not be at a disadvantage (to the dismay of blazing boost glad random BG rets the world over).

Hmmm ok. So how would you recommend I get the best gear for PVP? Keep doing BGs and buy the gear in orbios with honor points?

The honor set starts at ~ ilvl 229, and you can only upgrade it by a few ranks before it tells you to go level your Covenant Renown to unlock further upgrades.
Alternatively, you can now run the new Uldaman dungeon for gear. There’s a quest called Legacy of Tyr: Secrets of the Past that rewards a 278 weapon.

This is about to change pretty heavily, and wouldn’t recommend wasting your time right now. Just farm the prepatch gear and do the prepatch dungeon until the 28th.
DF Season 1 will move to a much better PVP gearing system that has outlets for Honor / Conquest / World PVP / & even crafted items.

Adding to this-- just get some pre-patch event gear and grind out honor/conquest with random and epic bgs. Hoard them and wait to get better gear when DF starts pvp season 1 in December.

In Classic you want a combo of near max resil with your trinks and wep being Heroic raid gear.
Thats how I did it in the arena tournament. And did better doing that then doing FULL PvP gear on live servers.
In retail you can unlock better PvP gear the better you do much more easily. I kinda like it better that way apart from when it sometimes glitches and gives you the same exact piece back to back to back but upgraded versions of it instead.
2.4k rating = glad in retail.
Glad is % based rating in Classic. You get lucky and you get glad at 2.2k rating. You get unlucky and you are only getting it at around 2.7k.
Retail best PvP gear you just gotta grind out more PvP thats all. Higher ratings allows you to get better gear.
That’s true only tilll end of this week .
There is no rating requirements in DF. Conquest gear is just one level with no upgrades

Well dang. More and more it seems like half the info I post on here was 100% accurate in the past but is outdated and inaccurate now. I feel like a blind old dog in much of retail WoW now.
