I have been doing the pet battles in BFA, collecting the pet coins. Lately the battles have gotten impossible to win. UI do the same strategy, but I can try for an hour and not win. But before It took maybe 3-4 tries. This is getting really irritating. I do not get why they don’t work anymore, or they just take 5 tries. Beginning to think just not worth it. I really don’t understand why it has gotten like this. And no I don’t think it should be just given, but takes up to much time to bother.

Use all level 1 pets if just for the quest reward. Much easier!

You need a very specific type to win. Otherwise the computer does 2 attacks per kill. Its a terrible system.

Yes, but I am wondering why they have gotten so hard recently. They weren’t that difficult last month. I know they are random, but have they made them harder to win.

Lol, pet battles are easily the hardest content this game has to offer. (Aside from Mythic of course)

Do Celestial Tournament, battle Algalon and win, then do BRD pet battle dungeon and get back to me.
Sometimes you can only win or lose because of pure RNG.
More people have finished Keystone Master than the pet battle dungeons, I see so many on that mount, but so few with the pet battle titles.

I use Xu-Fu website. Gives you a lot of options as far as pet teams for each trainer. Even gives you a step by step move. Some battles are RNG but even those win within a couple tries.

Wowhead has a guaranteed combination to win every pet battle quest in Shadowlands with level 1 pets.

Yup, which is why most people will never have those achievements.
If it was easy everyone would have done it.
They aren’t random, though. I mean, the trainer WQs change every day, but the battles themselves are the same. And there haven’t been any changes to pet battles since Shadowlands came out. Are you trying to brute force every fight every time and trying to come up with new tactics?

There was a change in the last patch. I will see if I can find the specific change, but there are a number of pet battle strats that don’t work now, even for SL dailies.
Scroll down in some of the WoWhead comments to find alternative teams or solutions since the recent patch. Just go in aware that they may not all work, but alternative strategies are there.
There was? There wasn’t anything in the patch notes, and I haven’t had any issues.
The strats on Wowhead are still working for me, but the big caveat is that they take specific pets or at least specific abilities. So if you lack those pets/abilities, finding alternatives or different strats can be problematic, or at least to have alternatives that are as reliable as the optimal ones.
It can be a pain, but if you are missing often used strong pets, it’s worth the time and effort to hunt them down. You’ll spend less time in the long run if you have the right tools at your disposal.
If you find you are lacking certain pets/abilities at max level, I’d make a list of those and the next time it’s the Super Squirt Day in the garrison, take advantage of that day to level up those pets that will make your pet battling easier.
For myself, my general “go to” team for most pet battles in BfA is Iron Starlette (1,1,1) (use windup, supercharge, windup), Lifelike Mechanical Toad (1,1,1) (try to build up frog kiss quickly, heal as necessary, water jet otherwise) , and Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling (1,2,2) (use thunderbolt, breath, decoy if necessary). That is not necessarily the optimal team for any particuar fight, but they work reliably well overall with little or no RNG effects, although some may be a little slower than optimal teams.
One notable exception is that goblin trainer in Drustvar up in the snow with the azerite pets, for which swapping out the Iron Starlette for an aquatic pet is necessary (like one of the draenor calf pets, but keep lifelike frog since it acts like aquatic). Another exception is that krolusk dude in SE Tiragarde sound with the shell/shield buff you have to break down, but a moth with the moth balls ability works well there, so put one of those in for the Iron Starlette.
Also, for the pet battles in Nazjatar or the corrupted zones, I use a different team: Unborn Valkyr (1,2,1) (curse, haunt, then you get to switch pets to the next one), Ikky (1,1,1) (black claw, flock, both of which buff your damage), and Twilight Clutch Sister (2,1,2) (twilight meterorite and fire to clean up). That team is good for those single battle pet trainers with the pets having large HP pools or that 50% damage reduction buff. It’s admittedly a pain to get the Unborn Valkyr, but worth it in the long run.

This website (below) is what I always use to come up with a good team to beat a battle pet tamer. Xu-Fu has multiple teams for every battle pet tamer in all of WOW. Many of the winning teams are made up from pets you can tame for free, or buy at low cost.
Lastly, the Rematch addon is essential for taming frustrations (no pun intended) - this addon allows you to organize your pet battle teams and save that data so the next time that battle pet tamer comes up for a World Quest you’ll be all set! You can even add notes to each team that tells you exactly what step to do next when battling that tamer.

Also you can’t just buy a boost for pet battles. There are no carries.
