Running stockades which isn’t even a hard dungeon. Somehow we wipe on the Ogre dude. I’ve tanked him 3 times before no problem. Out healer is a little underleveled this time, though. I do my best to supplement that with my own healing. Doesn’t work, we die. (Pally)
The leader (a mage) says we need to go in with a plan. I state that It was fine the last couple times I tanked it, it was just a bad pull and I’m sure it’ll be fine.
That’s when they hit me with the “This isn’t retail!” bomb. I replied with “You’re right, retail is harder”. It devolved from there as they decided to go off then call me something I can’t post on the forum and kick me from the party. I saw them recruiting outside the dungeon and went “Really, you threw the whole run over a minor disagreement?” They repeated the insult and said nothing else.
Now, I post this specific instance as an example. This type of thing has happened multiple times in the past already, and it seems like any idiot who gets Party Leader in classic goes on a complete power trip, and it’s honestly just going to make me quit playing.
I’ve had quite a few groups that were fine. It doesn’t happen extremely frequently, but it happens enough to put a really bad taste in my mouth. It isn’t always me, either. That’s a really weird assumption to make. There’s often drama between others that causes it as well.
Don’t quit over it. Just ignore any players like that. I’ve ran into some awful people but I’ve also ran into some great people and made a lot of friends…There’s just so many people playing right now, you’re bound to run into some bad ones…I was healing a sfk run today and the mage literally refused to make me water. I ignored him and dropped group. they were all friends together…First time in my life a mage has refused to make me drinks in a dungeon. I’ve healed since BC…
Hi there Feferi, I realize you may be upset, but I am just going to speak bluntly here.
You may not be cut out for classic.
This does not make you a bad person, and you are probably a great player, but these are two very different games. We Classic players are born hard. we are born to fight. We are born to play games hardcore. It is how we were raised. When we played WoW back in 05’, we were like the Marines that invaded Fallujah, and you are the occupying force a decade later that has a FOB with a McDonald’s and a Pizza Hut on it, tanning on the top of your CP.
Again, this doesn’t make you a bad person, you just aren’t a Classic person. We are hardcore here. Its sink or swim my friend.
Same here, I’ve had a couple bad interactions with people out in the world, but I have yet to have an issue whilst in a group. I’m surprised tbh, I’ve expected to have been kicked for some stupid bs by now, but nope. Figure it’s gonna happen at some point, welcome to online games lol.
Sometimes you just end up in a group with idiots. Same as every multiplayer game out there. Don’t let it get to you. Tons of friendly people that just want to have fun in classic.
It’s funny how many of these types of replies I always see from horde side specifically, so I’m thinking of moving over and giving horde a try. Maybe there’s actually just less jerks.
You must have horrendous luck, because even the rudest people I’ve run into haven’t been nearly this nasty. Or we aren’t getting the whole picture, but I’d like to believe you aren’t exaggerating or leaving anything out.
But be careful if you group up with these so called “Classic” Fanatics.
In my guild, I introduce myself as a hardcore addict in Vanilla who reached Naxx 40- 6 bosses and have an active account on all expansions including BFA. I told them that I am playing both. I defend Classic against Classic Haters while I defend BFA against BFA haters. Both are not perfect games but they are both WoW games… a very good MMO with just different mechanics.
I am very cautious not to stepped against Classic fanatics. I had some arguments when some of these Classic Fanatics trying to say negative to BFA. But I am very cautious not to overpower them with my knowledge as I’ve been here with WoW since 2004.
To me on that scenario, a wipe is a wipe. Someone failed. I dont care if you are from Retail. All I care is not to wipe on that mechanics. Watch out for runners. Stockades mobs when they are on low health, they run away and aggro the next room. I saw my overleveled guildmate tank fell down from a wipe while I survive as I started running to the exit when I see him died. I explained to them why we wiped. There’s no need to throw to them that in my M+10, this doesnt happen.
Running RFC as heals today. New tank rolls in with a 2H, finds out he is new, and our rogue party leader guilted him out of the group because of his warrior setup, wasting our time.
Poor player admitted he was new, got scared and quit despite the rest of us telling him he would be fine…
Its RFC. Not MC. How the heck else newbies going to learn?
