So many things going on screen at once. My eyes and my brain can’t handle all at once. I used to be so good when I was a lot younger. My reaction time was on-point and I was great at whatever game I played. That was 20 years ago.
When I’m pvping in BGs or arena, I can only focus on one thing. I can barely look at my target, let alone 2 or 3 other people plus pets, plus all the effects going on at once.
Is there something that can be done? I’m complaining now, but I bet it’ll get even worse when I get even older.

I’ll agree that there’s simply way too much screen clutter in WoW. It may as well be a big box around the main view area like old EverQuest 1 used to have.
There’s probably a number of addons to help minimize it or keep it contained to one space.

That’s exactly why I don’t play melee. there’s too much going on in the cluster of a tiny space. Play a healer or ranged dps; your life will be dramatically better.

I have the HARDEST time spotting my damn mouse on the screen when the action really heats up.

It’s definitely gotten harder to keep track of what’s going on, particularly in M+ and raids. So much stuff exploding, flashing, moving, etc. Feels more like an action game, except half or more of the game’s classes are not well equipped to deal with that.
I don’t mind more actiony games, but the control scheme and ease of mobility have to be ramped up to match. Think something like the combat system in the Fable games. Otherwise, the action bits need to be slowed/watered down.

Have you turned down your graphics settings?
You lose a little bit, but you might gain from it.

This is true for me. I’m an older player and I have real trouble focusing on a target in melee. They often move due to their own mechanics or the tank pulling them somewhere or there being a number of them at various points of the compass. I’m constantly finding I can’t attack anything because it has moved behind me and I spend half my time turning around and moving to try and hit something.
In general play I enjoy melee, particularly my Monk and DH. However I hardly ever play them in raids or dungeons because of these sorts of problems. I sometimes wonder how other players manage.
At least at range I can pick a target or AOE a mob and hit something…

I’m just focusing on the center of the screen, in my tiny little viewing area about 2 inches in diameter. I can keep up with everything going on in this tiny little spot.

I honestly just tab and see if my spells are red. Or throw a hammer and use it as a target marker.

Getting older sucks. I know exactly what you mean. I’m about to upgrade my monitor and get something bigger.

Lol me too. Wished I could make it bigger or something so it doesn’t blend in.

Big monitor helps me a lot.
Though, I confess the main reason I have it is for digital art, not gaming.
Oh, I had that problem when playing a tank, and also clicked out of WoW on a second screen too.

They have to fix this for tanks, make their life easier since they are really needed.
I am a healer and basically just watch where I am standing and use healbot, I could not heal without that add on, it is just impossible, I can imagen for a tank, maybe (I don’t know) there is an add on for tanks.
The screen clutter is a big reason why I have used UI replacements for years.
This has recently started to get to me too. The funny part is I have epilepsy but have never been photosensitive (triggered by flashing lights etc). As I’ve gotten older I’ve started to notice it, it still doesn’t give me a seizure but every so often I’ll notice facial twitches or my head will jerk a bit. I usually take that as my signal to stop for the night.

you should sue wow haha, like the people who sued pokemon
Sometimes I mount up and fly across Orgrimmar, only to forget why I went over there in the first place. I can confirm that it only gets worse. Today I found my beer that I lost yesterday in my wardrobe, it still tasted fine.

One of those things I really like about FF14 is the clarity of what is and isn’t bad and clearly defined danger zones.

My mom is old as well. She plays Wordscapes.
You should give it a try.
