Getting old and playing wow

I started playing when I was old so… I don’t quite qualify. Or do I? Time to waddle off to get my AARP senior discount for brunch soon!

I guess, yes… it’s a game, there shouldn’t be some weird thing surrounding older people that game. It’s for enjoyment, just like watching a movie, reading a book, etc…

The actor Henry Cavill played WoW, still does I think and he’s older than me lol…

I’m unsure why you potentially wouldn’t be alright with that.

Gaming is a hobby like any other.
WoW is a game like any other.

I do appreciate that the game has lasted this long, though. This is why I play MMORPGs. They’re designed to be long-term. Even if there are soft (and hard) resets on progression, your character is still there and SOME stuff carries through. It makes me feel like putting time into the game isn’t a total waste, which is something I struggle with when spending money on games. $60 for a game I know is going to be a 1-off thing that lasts maybe a few weeks at best for me is hard to swallow.

uhm, started at 12 i think? 24 now. Been off and on, sat out all of Cata, hardcore played TBC, Wotlk, Mop, and WoD. Legion was on and off.

Its crazy how much my life has changed since my first day logging on

EDIT: 348 days /played over 12 years, 48 days in this expansion

I started playing WoW when I was 14. My parents caught wind of that drama about teens getting addicted to WoW so they’d limit my playtime.

I’m old, in 20 years I will be taking the long dirt nap.

I was 35 when WOW released, I still play on and off now but I started getting really crazy about gaming during Quake 2 and Quake 3 days. I was a crack shot with the Rail Gun.

I now play Overwatch more than WOW cause it gives me that Quake 2 and Quake 3 sense to pop Pharmercy out of the game :joy:

Some of you show your age when you say “old” lol. I started when I was 24. I’m 36 now. I don’t consider myself old.
