I still don’t have CT or CA. Last night I spent 2 hours simply just trying to get into a pug as both DPS and tank. I’m 199 item level. Everyone already has dedicated tanks and no one wants a Dps DH. I haven’t been this frustrated with Wow since trying to pug content as a lock at the beginning of legion. And yes I do have a guild but they just got to council on normal last week. I don’t play for raid, I play for m+ so normally I am patient about my guild progress. It’s incredibly frustrating that my two best legendaries are from a raid bosses that I cannot get into groups to kill. Dh needs a serious buff so that people actually want them in their groups.

Council is the hardest thing about getting CA. Couldn’t you just help them push this week and then you get the Memory and a warm feeling for helping?
Yeah, my guild will probably finally clear normal by next week. It’s just incredibly frustrating that such a big power increase comes from raid with all other legendaries offering no real comparison. Everyone already has their legendaries and I feel left behind while also playing one of the weaker specs in the game.

council is the hardest imo , fight is long and so many things can go wrong.
Sludgefist and Generals are a joke as compensation lol.
I plugged Sire on this toon and tanked it.
I soloed the last phase for a bit and hit 45 stacks before kicking the bucket. Last 2% was a kite fest

I imagine the most difficult thing about acquiring CA from council is that Council doesn’t drop CA.
Either you don’t remember the legion legendary system or you’re meme’ing.
If you think an outright rng legendary system like the one we had in legion is less frustrating than what is predominantly a guaranteed loot system (excepting dungeon legendaries), I don’t know what to tell you.
Stone legion generals and sire denathrius on normal are not difficult fights.
We knew well in advance the sources of the legendaries. We knew if we wanted chaos theory and collective anguish that the fastest way would be to join a guild.
If, four weeks into the expansion, you are pugging for legendaries, the fault is your own. It’s not a shadowlands issue. You simply should’ve planned ahead better.

My comment regarding warlocks was due to their poor performance at the start of legion, ask any lock that played at the start, it was common to get kicked or not invited to groups simply because you played a lock. That’s how I feel trying to play as DH currently, though perhaps not as bad. The legion legendary system was awful, I’ll agree there.
Now, as for “I should be in a better guild” I don’t play to raid. I play for m+. I like my guild, they are casual and family oriented. I don’t want to abandon them because they are a little slow. That’s the underlying issue here. If the Leggos from other content were decent or on par with CA or CT, then I would just craft one, but they aren’t.
So here is the issue: I need to pug raid to get my legendary at a faster rate. I seemingly can’t get into pugs, likely because the current perception of DH is that they are subpar dps. So what do I do? You would suggest I leave my friends and family guild to get a one time drop? I’d rather not. I did not plan on being treated like the black sheep of dps, but here I am, feeling like one after trying to pug for hours, even though a lot of people already have normal nearly on farm.
If you are a M+ DH build fel bombardment and quit whining. It really has the highest cleave DPS, just check bloodmallet if you dont believe me

Generals are a glorified trash pull. The hardest part of getting CA is council.
Show me a top 100 DH using it in m+ and I’ll craft it.
Your first mistake is assuming you can compete with those top 100, if you make such a comparison you need to be among them. They have other legendaries they have invested in, also it was bugged for some time, now it is not. I’m sure in the near future you will see people investing in and using it.
Everyone is so caught up with doing what “top” players are doing, but they don’t know why they are doing it, they assume why, and usually are wrong in their play styles, therefore not being able to replicate it. You need to play your own game, instead of mimicking these “top 100” in order to have your “fun”.
95% of people aren’t trying to compete with top players. They set the standard for what optimal play looks like, and if you want to play your class the best you possibly can, then it makes sense to emulate what they do. Some players like to play for fun and that’s fine, but if you’re constantly trying to improve yourself then you’re not going to be doing or playing suboptimal builds.
This is why sims and logs exist. Lots of people enjoy tweaking and searching for better and more optimal ways to play. It’s part of the fun.

I have the feeling you are here to argue and complain and not get useful information.
I’m really just trying to make two points:
- Havoc needs a ST dps buff (personal experience tells me we are ok, but there is a lot of negative stigma in the community)
- More than just raid legendaries should be viable.

Havoc, is not the only class, that is not top dps right now.
A matter of fact, is that they are in the very middle of ST logs. and in the top quarter of AoE.
You have stated that you have not even gotten your leg’s from the raid yet, implying you havent explored most content for your own yet, meaning that you currently are going off of other peoples information for your “struggles”
Must be exciting.
If you want a game to cater to how you want it all the time, you need to sub to a different game, because blizzard works on this game in a way to make waaaay more people than just you happy.
There are many periods of time, where a class is “done wrong” in the eyes of their mains.
Everyone shines in their own times. DH still very good pick, and this “nobody wants me in their group” crap, either contributes to your item level, or experience.
I, do not have your same problem.
And if you don’t think that I have the right to voice any of these things, you can check my logs for credibility, I am not one of your fantasy “top 100”
but I have played enough content to a level where I know what’s going on .
Yeah I checked your IO, I’m glad you agree that dps isn’t where it should be, and like I said I’m ok with where we are. You do have the advantage that you are in a heroic raiding guild however. Look at it from my perspective:
I only raid 4 hours a week tops. Raid is not my priority. I know I’ll eventually get normal and heroic clear with time. I’m ok with that. I have accepted that if I want to get my leggos faster, I need to pug.
I go to pug, as both a dps and as tank. I try to join groups for 2 hours on a Tuesday refresh. Not doing anything else. Just group finder up, searching for stone generals or a sludge group. Everyone wants experience with the boss kill, which I don’t have an achieve to link. Or they just have tons of other options that are known to be better dps. Other than leaving my guild, what are my options? It’s not a fun experience to play job search simulator for hours at a time.

If your current guild does not provide what you are desiring to achieve, try to make that difference, or yes leave it, go to wowprogress…com and find a new one that suits your taste, and apply.
So, quit a guild with people I’ve known for years, go searching for another guild (which who knows if I can even find a guild looking for a DH) just to get 1 kill on a boss. You don’t see a problem with that?
