I am leveling another toon for retail, and the timewalking dungeons are currently out. Most of the time it is a cake walk and things fall over (as they should, its supposed to be a more lax way to level). Well sometimes the mobs hurt a lot if the tank is’nt prepared with defensives if you’re pulling big packs. Well, the tank runs into huge mobs multiple times, and dies immediately. After this happens like 3 times, the group kicks me (the healer) and now I’m stuck here with a 30 minute deserter for no reason. This is so ridiculous, why am I getting penalized for 30 minutes?
Because bad community is bad.
Use the downtime to pursue other methods or take a break. Gods willing, you won’t get those jerkoffs again.
Im sure it sucks to be vote kicked for a seemingly dumb reason and it does happen but you also have to think, 3 other people agreed to remove you.
If your whole group doesn’t want you there they don’t have to play with you. Someone could have voted no.
Personally I wouldn’t want to be in a group nobody wants me in anyway.
Because someone at blizzard doesnt understand how to keep players happy.
That deserter thing needs to go. Its an antique
I’ve been running these all week. I’ve watched the tank get deleted in Blood Furnace and Shattered Halls all week.
No one has kicked anyone for it.
Actually, I’ve seen zero kicks or attempts at kicking. Most people know the tuning is whacked.
So this sounds like a super unlucky streak. Here’s hoping they got a dps who queued as a healer who refuses to heal.
Because they decided they didn’t want to run with you. Because they were too stupid to realize it wasn’t your fault.
lol…yeah, these idiots clearly dont grasp the fact that if they exceed healer output for X too long a time, its impossible to heal them fast enough to keep them from dying
Just basic math that they seem to low IQ to figure out. lol.
timewalking tbc and some tbc dungeons itself are overtuned.
there’s almost nothing you can do but play safe and the tank and heal beware.
And those are the only two that seem to pop up. Leveling through those was rough. Especially with the land mines that don’t show up all the time and stay invisible.
Kicking a lvl 85 tank is crazy!
I honestly would never even consider kicking someone unless they are being a butthead. Dungeons are too short for that. Just get to the end and leave if someone is that bad.
Having healed in some timewalking this week, I can say for sure that something is off with the balance of things, and I think what’s happening is that players have less health than they aught to after scaling.
The problem probably isn’t you, in relation to the usual difficulty of healing in other contexts. IMO, the tank/dps should be shouldering some responsibility to stun/interrupt strategically to soften the incoming damage spikes. If they’re not doing this, then it will be common for tanks (especially leveling tanks) to be near instantly killed in certain pulls.
As a priest I had guardian spirit prevent many tank deaths, and I was using it almost on cooldown.
For anyone reading these ….
keep in mind you’re never going to get the full story and that’s why you can’t figure out why this hasn’t ever happened to you.
And the moment it ‘goes’ you’ll get people dropping dungeons whenever they want. Good luck completing a dungeon players don’t like, like say, Dawnbreaker, or completing a dungeon after a boss that drops a piece of tank/healer loot is dead, because that won’t happen. Or if they selectively remove it like say, removing it from folks who get kicked, you’ll see tanks and healers holding groups hostage and demanding they get kicked because they don’t want to do the dungeon they got put into.
The reason why I know that tanks and healers would do that, is because that’s exactly what they did, which is why the deserter penalty applies when you get kicked (it didn’t used to).
I don’t start blaming the healer unless I’m dying to the mobs that aren’t busted, or if I pull a small mob and still die. Paladins aren’t in a great spot for healing right now, I would recommend tanking, especially if you feel like your tanks are pulling too much. Tanks control the pace, so i recommend rolling tank and taking over the pace.
A good healer can handle a tank that pulls 3-4 (sometimes more) packs, but the current time walking is horribly scaled, so I blame blizzard 9 times out of 10.
Yep! I had to warn our guild tank last night about Blood Furnace and Shattered Halls, because of the insanity I’ve watched from those mobs in pugs.
The hilarious part was when we got to the last boss in Blood Furnace and he was trying to be careful with those trash mobs… who promptly turned to our poor healer and deleted her in less than a second. She was like, “… well okay then!”
Time walking dungeons are busted.
Some mobs will 2 shot me as a tank, level 80 with 600+ gear, but a level 30 fury warrior in heirlooms can face tank them just fine
Idk what’s up but as a tank in time walking it feels especially dangerous for no apparent reason, especially in shattered halls
Lmao as the tank, I almost always die to the first few mobs and the last boss casters because it’s almost instant death, even with all my defensives. My anti-spell abilities have came in clutch a few times though thankfully.
Last boss in blood furnace is a joke. Went in and the caster adds instagibbed me lmao
As a bdk your mechanic requires you to survive first in order to heal back up
People just click yes. They don’t look or care.
Society as a whole is going down the crapper tbh.
Its not a WoW thing, its a world thing.
It’s there for a reason, and it needs to stay, forever.
Because you can’t heal timewalking worth a squat. That’s why you got kicked.
