Getting kicked for doing the Pit of Saron quest is great

If an unflagged healer heals a flagged target, then the heal won’t splash at all (wild growth, chain heal, beacon of light, etc.)

Flagging for pvp cripples your healer.

Man refuses the instant solution and demands everyone else do the one that takes significantly more time, then says the others aren’t being team players…lol

You’re being rather obstinate here, while missing the point. I didn’t want to flag when I queued, but in order to play with the group in that example, I did, because the healer was from a PvP server and the group agreed to flag since it was five minutes faster than just sitting around.

Then, when a replacement shows up that isn’t flagged, and four people are, the replacement has the following options:

Type /pvp to have the same status as the other four group members
Not type /pvp and deal with it
Demand the group unflag before proceeding wasting five minutes of everyone’s time
Leave the group or demand a vote-kick if they refuse to unflag

Contriving a particular scenario to fit your ideal and then calling me obstinate is kind of ironic.

Yeah! He doesn’t need to wait until marriage!

It wasn’t contrived, it has happened just like I said. Thankfully just one time. I don’t know what “ideal” you’re attributing to me here.

My “ideal” is that Blizzard fix the RDF system so that everyone is unflagged when they zone in. In the mean time, I’m just trying to do whatever to get through the dungeon smoothly and quickly. If that means I type /pvp so be it.

Hmmmm. Ok.

This is you being obstinate.

And this is the point you’re missing:

99% of players, myself included aren’t flagging for PvP to troll, or grief, or entertain themselves. It’s happening because the RDF system as it stands, is grouping people from PvE servers, and from PvP servers who enter flagged automatically. And in order to speed things along, most players just type /pvp so that the entire group has the same status, as opposed to waiting five minutes for a flag to drop.

Then those players that manually flagged for the benefit of the group they were placed in sometimes forget to drop their flag after the dungeon is cleared, queue for another run, and show up flagged for PvP. There is zero malicious intent there. In other groups, someone ends up leaving the group mid run and you get a replacement that isn’t flagged. Then that group is presented with the scenario I’ve outlined in detail, more than once, on this thread.

You must have your own definitions, then.

This quote proves my point, not yours.

Cool beans.

obstinate

ŏb′stə-nĭt

adjective

  1. Stubbornly adhering to an attitude, opinion, or course of action;

Wait or leave…
Play well with the group, which can only be done in one manner according to you or gtfo…

You’re the only person on the entire thread offering ultimatums for group play. The rest of us are doing our best to cope with the system in its current form to make the group play as smooth as possible.

Ahh. . . I see you just don’t understand what stubborn means, then. Fair play.

X to doubt.

This is ignorant.

My healer is on a PvE server but I’m basically always flagged now because I mostly do 5 mans on it and if I’m flagged, all my spells work on people who are both flagged and unflagged. It doesn’t even matter what anyone else does or what server they’re from.

Hopefully Blizzard fixes the issue, but in the meantime, the healer flagging fixes 90% of the issues.

Thank you!

I basically just do as the healer does in these situations. If the healer I get group with is flagged, then I flag as well, so that my Arcane Brilliance hits the entire group. If the healer isn’t flagged, then I do not flag, and hope that the tank and other damage dealers are either not flagged as well, or that the healer doesn’t care.

If the tank is flagged and the healer is not, well, I just hope the healer is cool with it or I prepare to farm Adder’s tongue on my other account while that sorts itself out.

How can u insta buy gear?

Please explain this to those of us that do not know why flagging is or is not an issue?

I think the issue is “It’s not how I want to play so everyone else should bow to my whims, and if you don’t play how I want then you aren’t a team player!” or something like that…

Ok. I thought there was either a bonus or a penalty for one way over the other. If its just wanting ppl to be thr same then this whole thing is a lttle silly.

Highly ironic that you think making me change how I’m playing is the issue here.

I play on a pve server as well and even before RDF everyone on my server just constantly pvp flagged. I’m on an Alliance dominant server and there are hardly any Horde, so why not?

These posts serve as a lesson to us all… People will argue about anything…

FYI I’ve been told that PvP servers cannot “unflag” can anyone confirm this? So PvE players are the ones forced to flag to receive buffs/ proper heals…
