Why is this a thing? I got glitch killed by that zul gurub boss healer doesn’t rez… by the time i run in they all passed the bridge and of course they left the mob in the way. i try to go around killed by the fish lol i tell them its blocking me getting to them…
they ignore me and pull the boss anyway one dies… then midfight they kick me i get deserter… why do u get deserter if you’re vote kicked for no good reason like? hello this makes no sense
Are there legitimately no reasons you can think of why it would make sense to have a deserter debuff?
As far as I know, this is still about the same as it works in Retail.
I mean if you afk or straight out leave a group i can see getting one but when a bunch of toxic dudes kick you and u get deserter it makes zero sense
Yeah, I know what you mean. I’m not sure how you might automate a system to make such a distinction though. Maybe with progression in AI we’ll see something better soon.
you can’t initiate a vote kick while in combat so this is just a plain lie

its lame but a very valid reason, sorry you feel this way!
While ot sucks the healer didnt think to rez you really should have just gone the long way rather than run through mobs and potentially wipe the group.
Because its logistically impossible to implement a system that determines why a kick is happening and without a desserter feature people can troll and grief groups by just spam queueing as healer/tank and then holding the group hostage.
Im sorry this group was a huge jerk to you but please understand this system has to exist as the lesser of two evils.
It sucks, but if they didn’t do this people would just beg to be kicked if they didn’t get the random dungeon they wanted so they could re-queue. And if the group didn’t kick them, they’d troll the other players until they finally kick them or the group disbands. This is the lesser of two evils, unfortunately.
there is no long way the bridge was 100% blocked but anyway yeah i see what youre saying toxic cliques gonna toxic but getting deserter is dumb if kicked
They changed it on retail, you get deserter now even after killing first boss. Even in LFR.
What about this: no deserter on kick but your next ‘random’ dungeon is the same dungeon.
