Getting declined from everything

I guess the community seems to think paladin tank is REALLY bad, and will only invite warrior/druid even for stuff that is very easy for me. It’s just ridiculous that the community is this way, I see the same group waiting for a tank for like 20 min and just declining me because they only want oonga boonga braindead OP easy mode. I think paladin tank is amazing if you are good at it.

If your spec is subpar you will get less invites unless you are over geared…

I’ve heard people say it only affects the top 1% but that isn’t true at all. I ran my Ret up to around top 20 on a large server I think I was top few hundred Rets NA in Mythic plus at the time and still struggled to get invited for M+ groups doing key levels several lower than I had already completed prior to running up my io. Getting turned down for 10-12s after doing 16s or higher is a bummer. I don’t mean by one group I mean dozens when targeting a key or an item that is BiS even at lower Ilvl.

When my IO was lower it was much worse. Who takes a low IO ret when you can take a low IO fire mage with lust? Or a rogue with shroud? Or a monk or unholy with much more damage.

I had longtime friends that did M+ with me. None of us were meta specs our tank was like top 50 world prot warrior when prot was trash. If your spec is less than average you tend to get a lot less invites no matter what you have proven.

I had an alt mage and never had trouble getting into M+ groups appropriate for my gear/io rating. I’m just a PvP bot now, I got tired of it TBH. Hours trying to get an invite if my friends were offline or doing M+ with other folks, when my mage got invited into a group in minutes. I did well when I got the invite and even got compliments which is rare in a game where it tends to get toxic.

I hope Blizzard understands under tuned specs make the experience much less enjoyable if for no other reason the lack of desire for groups to accept you. It doesn’t matter where you sit in progression step 1 all the way to 100 will be harder for you, M0 all the way to 20+.

The problem is compounding, the content is harder for you and getting groups to try/practice/gain experience is harder as well. The good news is if you fix problem 1 problem 2 goes away.

I don’t blame the player base, Blizzard has full ownership. If a class is weaker it reduces your chance to progress so bringing that class is a bad idea generally speaking. Creating a group that increases your chance to progress is perfectly reasonable, sadly some of us get left out. Had I not had friends willing to take a ret it would have been much harder.

Blizzard needs to do a better job balancing the classes.

PvP I get the complexity that is tougher although doable, PvE seems like low hanging fruit in making the game better.

Move the dials!

This is not true. I get invited almost instantly.

I have a similar experience.
Edit: just to add to this as to not dismiss your complaint, protection paladin generally Speaking is considered A tier by most, and S tier by some at the very top. In mid range it is regarded as the meta tank because of the damage and utility it provides in pugs. I’m not sure what key level you are trying to join, but based off of my experience pugging Many keys throughout the years I would assume that it is key level and timed key experience in the bracket you are trying to join.

If someone is not taking you because you are a prot paladin, and only because of that, they don’t know much about how to succeed in the game and are doing you a favor.

in the last 20 minutes I have applied as DPS to 38 groups. I have run and completed a +10 M this week. These groups I am applying to range from +11 to +14. I get declined about 15% of the time and ignored the rest.

Before that for about 10 minutes I applied as Prot to 23 groups and got the same results.

Not sure what I have to do. I don’t have stellar stellar gear, but my Ilvl is reasonable 384 for both Prot and Ret.

The devs don’t give a crap that Paladins is barely playable.

This is wrong on many levels.

Yesterday, Noobadin (PP) got four world records in M+.

I get invited to every single group I apply to IF my RiO is sufficient. Meaning, if I have a +8 *2/3, I’ll get into a 9, etc etc. don’t expect to get invited to a key you haven’t at least beaten the level below it once or more times.

Don’t try to apply to a group with a high RiO score if yours isn’t on-par. Remember, you’re a stranger, and they know nothing about you. All players can ascertain are what key levels you’ve completed, and what your item levels are.

They’re simply going off of what they can infer about your gameplay.

Then again, some people are dumb and only want to bring Warriors because they’re FOTM. In that case, you’re better off not playing with them anyway.

You need to have completed the key level the people are looking for. Don’t expect to get into a +14 when the highest you’ve cleared is a ten…

Also, your M+ score isn’t even 500…I wouldn’t invite you either unless I didn’t mind bricking my key TBCH…

You just said don’t expect to get into a 14+ if you haven’t completed a 14+. Read that and tell me how that makes any sense at all.

Here, I’ll break it down for you.

I’m a random DPS or Healer. I’ve got a 14 CoS. I would really like to push my key, three chest, and knock it out quickly so I can get onto my next key.

Tanks begin to queue.

Am I going to bring the absolute best bet in terms of completed keystone level/times so I can get the highest key, or am I going to bring this Prot Paladin which has never attempted the keystone level of the key I have?

Make sense?

Some folks don’t get it. I think there are a lot of new M+ players this expansion. Folks don’t know how sweaty M+ can get… :joy:

Apparently I am not understanding what the [Instance name]: ### means. I was thinking that is the group’s average IO. So if that isn’t it I will figure out a better way to see what people are having

No, what makes sense is that you list the group that way so that I know to avoid applying. Instead of just posting the dungeon with a +# or +##. It’s not my fault you don’t give any info at all and get applies from everyone.

Nor am I implying that everyone should just accept me. It’s just a nightmare to try and navigate and get a group and it for sure feels paladin based to me.

I’d recommend installing the RaiderIO addon. It assists by letting you know the score of the party leader so you can see where you should and should not apply.

Honestly the best guidance I could give you is just push your own keys and make your own groups. This way, you’ll be experiencing the content that you are capable of, and you can put your own group together and have full control of who you bring.

I mean, did you hurt yourself with this level of reaching?

I just looked up your run history. You HAVE to know why you are being declined to 10+ keys. Your score is achievable with two dungeons. If you want help on how to time keys, or get your own key, this is a good place for that, but if you honestly can’t figure out what’s going on your way out of touch man.

It appears you bought this 10 key as well. I was wondering who would have taken you to a 10. You can either keep spending gold buying carry’s (I do not recommend) or just play your own key over and over to gradually build score and your issue will disappear.

Think I’ve only failed to get into like less than ten groups total on my pally, though I only queue as tank/heals. Work your way up a key level or two at a time, across all the dungeons and build a history that shows repeated success.

Needs more info. You’re failing to get into what level M+ groups given what personal M+ rating? Of course you’re not going to get invited to high keys if you haven’t put in the time to build up your rating on lower ones first.

Ol Noob has zero tier bonus and is sub 400 ilevel to boot! Best in the business!

Much like everything else in wow, getting into m+ groups is just a grind. Want in for 10s? You should have done at least all 9s. And so it goes all the way through. Some groups may risk more than others but it’s healthier to assume that the whole m+ system is a process rather than a shortcut to player power especially in this expansion.

Idk I’ve been playing mostly Prot and I feel my odds of getting accepted are pretty good… But I mean you have to apply to keys that are appropriate to what you have done…

Want to get to 11’s and 12’s then go and do ALL 10’s (timed ideally)… Even then it will never be 100% but your odds will be good.

If anything I’m actually a bit surprised to have been accepted to a couple of keys today, my highest for RLP and NO from last week were untimed +10s and I still got accepted to +12s (we timed both, even two chested the +12 RLP).

But I mean I also got rejected from an 11 despite having 3 chested the +10 (and having all 10s done and some 11s-12s), it happens, there are good and bad days but that’s just the way it is…
