I was reviewing logs for recent raids and my iLvl % was really low like 20% vs 50-70% for the other headers. My activity was about the same as everyone else.
It was pretty good, but the amount of healing going out was low.
Some of the players downrank and some don’t. I get about the same performance whether downranking or using Rank 7 Flash Heal.
Most priests are doing Flash Heal for 80% plus of their healing, some cast the highest rank, others cast Rank 3/ Rank 4. I was suggested by my Class leader to downrank to Rank 3/4 but it didn’t seem to help much. It makes sense to downrank as you get more casts out, and don’t run out of mana less than halfway through the fight.
I am following everything the raid leaders want, downranking spells, gear enchanted, my Healing Power is at 700. I have decent gear and just got the Tier 2, 3 set bonus.
In short, I am mystified. I use Vuh do and mouse over macros, and mana pots and Demonic Runes as well.

Are you raid healing or MT healing? If you are MT healing time your heals to land right after a boss attacks. Target the boss and get an attack addon.
Honestly healing parses in Classic are not really a good indicator of contribution. The better your raiders are, the lower your parse will be unless you spend the entire raid learning bad habits and sniping heals.

I am doing both raid healing and MT. That’s a good suggestion as I do get assigned to heal the MT or specific off tanks, etc. The people I raid with are over achievers as well, if you know the type. Probably a guild switch/server change is in order.

If they were real over achievers they would know that the parse number is not a good indicator of contributions. Someone dedicated to dispelling on chromatic is gonna get a zero on the meters, but is essential to the raids survival.
As long as people aren’t dying from lack of heals I wouldn’t worry to much about healing parse numbers since a higher number usually means people are heal sniping to parse the meters with inefficient bad habits, or the raid is taking way more damage than it should.

They are threatening to demote me due to the logs, even though the Class Leader admits the healing parses in the logs are pretty much bogus. I’m about ready to bail honestly. I’m sure I could be useful somewhere.

Time to divorce yourself from the the mindless toxics it looks like.

Reforged, you on Old Blanchy by chance? Honestly that’s kinda hilarious, in a sad way, that your guild would demote you for that. Honestly kinda shocking tbh, like Demoneye and your class lead have said, healing logs are bogus, they have no impact on how you are as a healer. If they want have them talk to me and ill just laugh at them while they try to explain

That right there would send me looking.

I’m on Azuresong… I think I will transfer, probably to Atiesh, as Azuresong is kinda dead. Like if you want to find a dungeon to work on your BIS gear, you will be SOL.

Heal rank 4 is one of the most mana efficient heals in the game and should be your default go to heal spell
greater heal rank 1 is best when you can focus on tanks and have slow predictable incoming damage
flash heal rank 4 is your oh crap button, when all heck breaks loose and you just have to spam without worrying about mana
max rank heals are for PvP

We’re having fun over on Atiesh.

I finally cracked 700 Healing power and I have 3 Tier 2 pieces and some other decent gear from ZG, etc. So flustrating.
you can download a mod that shows incoming heals so you dont over heal
dont ever cast renew unless you have the most + healing in the raid

Does Vuh Do give you an indication of incoming heals on a target, such that you’re not wasting cast time when there are already incoming heals?
If your raid team does indeed care about healing parses, then sniping heals is maybe the type of behavior that is rewarded.

We had one raid where a priest just destroyed everyone on most fights. We checked logs and it showed he spent about 80% of his time healing hunter pets… /facepalm

Could you link to those logs?

I mean, if people weren’t dying, he did the right thing. Pets alive beats pets dead.
Although he could’ve DPSed instead:)

That’s what I was thinking. Is there a way to tell in the logs if someone is heal sniping. Honestly it seems like the healders are spamming on everyone. Except when their teammates flat line, which is often.
Great suggestions, btw. Vuh-do does show the percentage of incoming healing.
Of course not i’m not going to put him on the blast

I’m questioning the authenticity of your claim.
