Hey. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for quickly moving back and forth to the DMF to get the 10% buff?
I’m doing the islands to level and if I die or what not I need to get the buff again. Is there a quick way to go back and forth to rebuff and reqeue in Dazaralor?
Also unfortunately, the quickest way I know of getting to the Faire is to set your hearthstone to the Goldshire Inn, in order to be close as possible to the portal. I’m surprised really, that Blizzard hasn’t introduced a scroll or potion (purchased at the Faire, and with a short duration) that 'ports you to the island.
The Darkmoon Faire is emphasizing why I’m so upset that they removed the Thunderbluff portal from places like Shrine and Dalaran. Like…why on earth design a new portal room and remove one of the MAJOR HORDE CITIES from all of the other teleport areas minus Dazar’alor, which only max level characters can use. And what happens after this expansion? The Thunderbluff portal disappears? Will it be in the next expansion’s hub or do we just lose this portal?
Every major city should have a portal to it in the portal room, and I’m still fuming that Thunderbluff doesn’t.
Set your Hearthstone to Thunder Bluff or Goldshire, depending on faction.
Grab a few Orgrimmar/Stormwind teleportation capes from a guild vendor; they will teleport you straight to the portal room.
They wouldn’t add one; if the Faire isn’t active, you’d waste a Hearth CD by being teleported out.
Well yes, I was just about to add that to my post before you replied. Don’t jump to assumptions.
A DMF Hearthstone toy purchasable with tickets, that only functions during the Faire. Could add a nifty fireworks effect to it as well.
Why would that stop them? There are lots of foolish places to “waste” your hearth. Getting dumped in Elwynn Forest or Mulgore wouldn’t be the worst.
However I doubt they will add an Innkeeper, since they haven’t bothered for all these years. It’s weird having a sanctuary zone with no rest area though.
Well, between the 10% bonus from the DMF and the 10% from the Draughts of Ten Lands, it really adds up when leveling via islands. Add that to heirloom bonuses and you’re looking at what, 70% faster leveling?
I’ve “boosted” my wife’s characters several levels by having my main sit at the island table in the Dazar’alor docks while she sits in the Faire, then I hit the queue button once she has the buff and we go ham. She gets loads of experience and we carve our way through, it’s especially easy since I have vastly outgeared normal expeditions. Alternatively, if you’re queuing with a group and one dies, having a hearthstone set in Thunder Bluff allows you to pop back down to the faire, then having the group resummon you from the handy stone right next to the island table (next to The Motherlode’s entrance).
…so I guess my recommendation is to have a group to queue with, either with one high-level person (or one who doesn’t care about the DMF bonus) standing at the table hitting the button, or with three so you can get back out there more easily. Or, like Melithiria said, get the Shroud of Cooperation or similar, set your hearth to Thunder Bluff, and use your hearth to get back to TB fast, then the cloak to port yourself back to Org to use the Dazar’alor portal. It’s not the best, but spending that extra 5 minutes or so to get, effectively, 55 minutes (or 2-3 islands’ worth) of 10% bonus experience is worth it, in my opinion.
To be honest, I wasn’t aware that the Stair of Destiny is a sanctuary zone. There are probably others that undermine my point as well. So I’ll retract, and simply say it’s weird that Darkmoon Island has no rest areas.
