Players on an existing 6-month recurring subscription with a future renewal date will receive the Nether-Gorged Greatwyrm mount, and Tabard of Flame for Burning Crusade Classic at no additional charge, no later than July 22, 2022 (must be redeemed by December 31. 2022).
Actually it’s kind of the opposite. This mount is not meant to be a “thank you” for your subscription or a “free reward” for subscribing. You (and those similar) will buy it regardless of whether or not there is a reward. They already have your money and dont care about you (not trying to be rude). It’s meant to incentivize people like me who pay monthly. Or those w/o a sub to come back.
Sooo what about the people who just have a sub auto-reoccurring every month?
You did not “technically” buy the 6 month sub and will not receive it sadly. Goes back to them wanting that assurance you will be stuck in for 6 months.
So you guys reckon it will try to scratch its ear with its non existent leg like the worm mounts do cause the animation is stolen from the mop serpent mounts?
Honestly? One of the ugliest mounts in my opinion.
You havent even launched the exp buff you promised on “summer” (half way almost over) on classic, one of the reasons why I resubbed in the first place in preparation for wotlk and you want me to “trust” you with 6 months?
Of course, that’s what they’re hoping.
That doesn’t mean it’s not also a free reward for me because of how it works. 
OMG! We were literally JUST talking about this in raid tonight! That was one of the reasons the BfA worm mounts bugged me was they would scratch ears they didn’t possess with feet they didn’t possess. At least this mount possesses something resembling ears.
I’m sure it does have the same animation, however. It’s not that the animation was “stolen from” the MoP serpent mounts. It’s that the animation was never removed when they reused the mount skeleton. All these wyrm mounts are simply the MoP cloud serpent skeleton reskinned and using the skeleton reused all the associated animations.

You guys have been kinda over using that one the past couple of expansions… it would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure what happened to murloc mount might see it at one point and time. Here is hoping they slap new skins on a different skeleton at the minimal. Or better case scenario, make news ones that a lot of players request.
The fact that this mount has no special animation make me think that this mount was maybe planned to be the final reward of the questline of the Blood elves.
If it was the original intent, there is an obvious reason as why they would back down on this idea: An uproar similar to what happened with the Alliance bee during BfA, with people playing the others races as their main asking to have their own racial flying mount with a quality similar to this wyrm.
And then, they would have to find a way to calm down everyone and there is not 36 solutions…
They have not the time to just finish the heritage armor project, so imagine doing a heritage flying mount for each playable race.
It’s stupid how we have a 6 month sub and have to wait a few days. Should be given to us instantly the second they made it available.

Obviously it was intended to be a heritage mount. Making the High Elves available for the Alliance was a gigantic blow to the fragile Blood Elf fanatic’s mind. They are the most played Horde-race.
Thy should have stayed with this idea and let anyone know that they are committed to bring more heritage mounts to the players over time. Now they have opened the incredible can of worms that the High Elf players can RP as Blood Elves with a few red/golden BC sets, which makes the Blood Elves look absolute unnecessary.

How about a whale mount? just some thoughts. 
Thinking that is a you problem. Neither of my current favorite mounts (ground and flying) come from the shop. Voidtalon’s from WoD and Voidwing’s no longer obtainable but that was from BfA.
See, but it’s also a ‘free reward’. Otherwise they’d be throwing it in only for new subs rather than including existing ones as well. Something that plenty of other companies do to try to entice new customers while more openly ‘not caring’ about existing customers.
I agree, being a roleplayer if i have to make a wish for WoW, it’s to have racial themed weapons, armors, mount and flying mount as well as a proper capital for each race (outside of the nomadic Voldunni in this last case)
Hmm hard to say: The Blood elves have a history that the High elves don’t have and i tend to think that if you play a Blood elf, it’s also for their background.
In my opinion, you don’t RP as a blood elf in the Alliance if you are a little serious with the exception of a diplomat / merchant. And you don’t come with such a mount in Stormwind with a mage district in it.
I guess that you are also talking about their commons customizations options in a global statment but we are not in the right topic for such a debate.
So yeah why anyone would think this isn’t a marketing incentive to buy a 6 month subscription is just mind boggling to me. Of course that’s what it’s for so why that is even being mentioned in the thread is weird to me.
But it is technically a free mount in certain cases like mine. I bought the sub months ago for nothing more than wanting the time to play. I had no idea this mount was coming out and because I was already on a 6 month sub term they gave it to me.
That’s 100% a free mount. I paid for the sub for the sub itself without incentive of this mount offered.
I actually kind of like it , it’s not my favorite but I like it. It’s cool for my mages at least I can’t see my paladins or hunters on it though.
Just an FYI, for those that dont have the mount yet, look in your Bnet launcher next to the Bell icon by your avatar. There is a box that looks like a present. Click it to open it and claim the mount. Ugh
When is the expiration date on this offer?
I sub in 6 month intervals, however I am going on vacation in the beginning of august and figured that there was no point in paying for a subscription for a week and a half while I was gone but plan to renew when I return.
Also, My current 6 month sub is still active, so do I get the mount and tabard?
