Get rid of the damn bots

My god If I try to farm anything EVER there are just bots EVERYWHERE on Herod there. Logged in to see literally 5 of them at the same spot doing the SAME keyboard turning and pull sequence. We don’t need ban waves we need real time bans for this crap.

Yeah, but at least whack some of them! When you go somewhere and see like 5 or 6 of them doing stuff it’s ridiculous. You can leave a few and keep monitoring them, but… removing a few wouldn’t hurt!

uh no it doesn’t. it stops the massive amount of bot gold coming into the economy.

see that’s where you are wrong.
Not playing whack-a-mole where more will just pop up quicker than you can whack them is better.
By playing whack-a-mole allows the bot makers to know exactly when they were detected by Blizzard’s system (remember you only reported suspected bots, you have no way of knowing they are actual bots) and allow them to build better bots.
Studying them, seeing how they work, breaking the program, adding it to warden, all these take time and then ban waves happen. It’s frustrating for legitimate players (including myself) as we see bots seemingly ignored by Blizzard but it’s still a better way to deal with them in the long term.

Sorry but I’m not incompetent. I know bot movement when I see one.

Just saying when killing things in an area they re spawn predictably means the player will move predictably in response, when I am farming an area I have often mused to my self how if some one was watching they would think I am moving like a bot, especially if I was tired and it was the end of a long day

You’re literally just parroting what people have been saying for years, while still being totally untrue. No matter what these bots are gonna pop up. They ALWAYS do. However the sooner you get them banned the less of a permanent effect they will have on the gold economy. Faster/more frequent bans = better game stability and better in the long run.

And you know what. Maybe I’m wrong. You’re absolutely right. This level 40 who has been sitting here since last night grinding nothing but fire elementals in the same sequence is totally not a bot.

/s for the incompetent.

while farming black dragons by BRM back when Classic was just WoW I was actually accused of being a bot due to this (was in hour 9 straight of farming)

my (now ex) wife would come by when my bags got full and I would transfer the scales to her and she would bring me replacement arrows so was non stop except those quick stops to trade.

Never said it was not a bot, also never said was, just saying that banning one or two here and there is a horrible idea. ban waves after breaking the bots works to keep that specific bot from working again instead of it still working as there was no investigation involved.
According to you I could come by and say 'oh he is following a bot around must be a bot ’ and you should be banned on sight ?

maybe it’s a forum parrot bot

Easy honor farm tho

When you’re logging in immediately after it’s getting ganked, safeguarding it, and ressing him after every gank. I think my assumption is safe.

And yes, players of higher caliber like myself and not you should be able to make such judgments.

bwahaha !!!
Sorry couldn’t help it.
Higher caliber ? you are pretty full of yourself aren’t ya ?
No player should be able to arbitrarily cause someone to get banned with no investigation which is what you are asking for .

they do bans in waves…

the fact that they have not done it yet could mean they have not been able to break the bots yet

or blizz could just be on vacation, its the holidays

The ban isn’t arbitrary, it’s for botting. Yikes

for ‘suspected botting’ by a random player (again not saying they are not botting). You are a nobody and have no clue if anyone is botting or not.

And it’s not an ego thing. I’m just saying I’d trust my judgment over yours regarding who’s a bot.

See that right there. I can spot a bot a mile away. You can’t that’s why you’re so up in arms about this. Low tier player, can’t spot bots.
