Im just a scrubby F&F raider. However, I cannot tell you how much I hate this spell. At least back in Legion I could talent out of it. I hate the layered RNG of it. Sure, I might have a pull with great rolls and up my dps 500-800 or something. But then the next pull I get grand melee six times in a row. It feels awful.
It is the anti-skill spell. Entirely dependent on RNG and plays a major roll in our overall dps. It needs to go away forever, or be a talent that we can chose not to take. I hate everything about it.
At least it no longer requires combo points and has no cooldown. Its current iteration is considerably better than constantly fishing for a good proc.
Yes, there is some randomness to it. As preach pointed out years ago when he decided to quit raiding on the rogue Warlords of Draenor, there are times when doing nothing different results in more or less dps with no variance according to skill. Thus is the nature of random buffs/procs in the game.
Sub and Sin seem to have fewer buffs and procs that have a significant variance on the dps regardless of skill. Maybe youâll like them more?
Iâd be happy to see Roll the Bones gone and have that power just put baseline into the class.
If it HAS to stay, Iâd like there to be second ability that lets you augment Roll the Bones and âload the diceâ so to speak to drastically increase your chance of getting one or two of the buffs. Or Iâd like the not-so-great buffs to be made stronger so even if you donât roll what you want it doesnât feel AS bad.
I kind of wish Outlaw would be re-flavored back to Combat and would feel more like a deft, nimble duelist rather than a kinda-sorta pirate fishing for good rolls to maybe get a decent Between the Eyes / Wickers crit.
I prefer the legion/bfa version of Outlaw a great deal more than what we have now. Outlaw was pretty low maintenance then so I didnt mind fishing for buffs. now its just spinning plates and the payoff isnt really anything that spectacular, I really do not enjoy this version of Outlaw.
RtB is currently propped up by conduit bandaids and i hope they make some serious changes in 10.0. However, i doubt RtB is going anywhere and Outlaw is stuck with it.
for 9.2 i will do the unthinkable and play an alt. For the 1st time in 16 years i will raid as something other than a rogue =(
as for mut and sub, i have no desire to return to daggers. I really like my swords. give sub one handers and hemo again and im there.
I also preferred the Legion iteration of Outlaw, and preferred the BFA iteration to the current version. That being said, Iâd rather have Combat back over this version of outlaw. The accumulation of changes just makes it feel clumsy.
-Still mourning the change to BTE. Yeah, gouge is nice. A ranged stun was better. A ranged stun that was better than our actual finisher was better still.
-Not fishing for RTB is an improvement, but keeping up RTB and SND just feels meh.
-Blade Flurry is both a charge and target capped. This frickinâ sucks. I wish they would make it a toggle again and keep it capped, or keep it as it is and uncap it to at least 8 targets. I think Fury has a similar issue, where only bladestorm is uncapped? but keeping whirlwind cleave is easypeasy.
You misunderstood. In BFA, it required combo points and did not have a cooldown, so you were constantly fishing for a good proc and rarely got to actually use a damaging finisher. Now it does have a cooldown. I agree that frequently you are not granted a good proc, however at least now outlaw is not forced to continually spend combo points on RTB just to see if you get to reroll again.
Yes, outlaw has some flaws, but at least we get to use damaging finishers now
I wish it was atleast off the GCD, and maybe procced a short Slice and Dice to help get rolling into the rotation much faster. That would atleast make it feel better to press.
Just buff the useless rolls so that all of the buffs are good. The problem isnât not getting a specific buff, itâs not getting a good buff.
If there was no chance to hit a dud roll the RNG of the combinations could be fun.
The gamblers dice aesthetic is meh and pirates are dumb af (rogue is assassination + a hamfisted pirates vs ninjas meme taken way too far). But the problem people have with the gameplay is simply getting bad rolls which can be fixed overnight
Just roll the bad ones into one buff. Grand Melee and Buried Treasure specifically. Add some attack speed to Grand Melee, feels like it should have some. Buried Treasure could easily be buffed to probably 10 energy and still not be great. The RNG is one thing, but itâd be a lot better if it was like these buffs are good for this, and these buffs are good for that, but instead itâs just these buffs are good, and those buffs are trash.
Small buffs to the worst ones and combining them will make the move feel a lot better.
The move itself could use a buff too. Reduce CD to 30 seconds. remove energy cost, and take it off GCD. Furthermore, make it so it can proc 3-4 buffs too, instead of just 1, 2, or 5. Itâd make it a bit more fun, imo. It doesnât solve the rng aspect of it, but thatâs what I tried to address in the first half of this post.
Finally, there is the âLoaded Diceâ talent. Activating Adrenaline Rush causes your next Roll the bones to grant at least two matches. This talent needs a rework. Itâs on the same row with Alarcity and Dreadblades for one, so itâs never going to get picked over those. Itâs also just two matches, and tied to our longest offensive CD, and makes no guarantee of which matches we get.
I wholeheartedly believe RtB would be a lot better if it gave more buffs when you rolled and it NEVER gave a singular buff by itself. No more rolling in stealth and only getting GM. There are 6 buffs with RtB, I think Blizz can spare some leniency.
