Get rid of # rating and usher in the era of %

Rating should be tracked and displayed as “top %” and not an arbitrary number that changes season to season and week to week (depending on artificial inflation).

Example:

SS: top 20%

2s: Top 50%

3s: Top 65%

And add glad back to 2’s

Then you’ll never get rewards. 1800 is currently top 5%. Don’t shoot yourself in the foot buddy

I like where you are going w that, thinkin outside the box… The 17 Year old rating system needs to go, for something new in its place. Its obvious that it does not encourage new players, or retain the old ones.

CEO Bobby is out, Microsoft is now the boss. I bet massive changes are coming, we just half to be patient. WoW will probably unrecognizable in a few years. For the better!!!

Never thought about that, I actually really like the idea

The problem is the start of the season, if it’s as deflated as it has been the past 2 seasons you could potentially be getting glad at 1800, which feels weird. I feel like % based rewards only really work when it’s the end of the season. So if they returned to only awarding rewards at the end of the season it’d be fine.

Tbh, I liked Legion’s system reward system best, however I don’t think people would like it at all.

They should have a static start of season rating then have it move as ladder moves for rest of season.

Then subscribe to my OnlyArenas

Potentially the best version would be to have both. Mid season ranked based rewards you can get no matter when, then end of season % based rewards aswell. Having the only thing you can really push for at the end of the season being r1 feels like a really poor idea imo.

Makes sense to me.

No way 1800 is top 5%. Maybe top 5% of wow subs, but not people who engage in rated.

If we’re going off the original percentage system and the cutoffs defined then, they would have to increase the percentages significantly to account for the much smaller amount of players now. Those original percentages were set when this game had MILLIONS of active players, wouldn’t be surprised if there was a minimum of 50x more participation in arena back then, most likely more.

implementing an overwatch/whatever other game does ranks like that system would be interesting, would definitely be more consistent than the system thats in place now

feel like it would also incentivize more people to play
