Get rid of pvp communities

Why would the thread get closed because I am asking a question?

Why would I bother?

Why lie?

Literally, the first “common” problem they list in their examples

Common Problems

* I found a player safespotting on the roof

But he’s not “safespotting” because he’s killable. So nope sorry not an exploit.

He’s trying to speed run a suspension most likely.

Either that or they like getting Mod notes added to their posts.

Because talking on the forums deserves a suspension why?

It’s ok Hirav you will always be my number 1 fan <3

He already disappeared from the war mode forums after he said there were no PvP changes in Classic and I linked hotfix notes from yesterday that mentioned PvP changes.

That was SoD. I never said SoD didn’t get pvp changes lol why are you again trying to lie?

To be fair, nothing in the dictionary exploit definition applies to wow pvp unless you developed a software to change the IP owners design intent/function.

Using tools wow gives you in a way the developers do not allow to continue is a non-issue, as the developers have taken steps to prevent that particular behavior or function to continue.

Something the community considers an exploit can be called that, but again, it’s up to the developers to do something about it or to do nothing about it for a very long time, which makes everyone believe that it is either intended or at least allowed through inaction.

Blizzard’s IP is Blizzards jurisdiction alone to govern what may or may not happen, and players can vote with their money, report issues on the Bug forums and report info to the hack reporting email, or just complain if they don’t like something if they wish.

The video game definition is using a bug or exploit to gain an unfair advantage.

Clearly the haven’t exploiting happens all the time in wow.

Blizzard themselves said sync queue is not the indented prepose of randoms, according to that fact what sync “communities” are doing is in fact exploiting. The problem is blizzard does not care about their pvp whatsoever so this has become a rampant problem.

I would like Blizzard to do what you would like. Fix bugs/game expoits, identify and ban queue syncers, after a blue post declares it an actionable offense first, design a queue system that’s not easily queue synced ect. I was just answering his “what is an exploit?” question.

It is much like laws. Without enforcement the law serves no purpose. Just because something is made unlawful does not mean that the behavior will stop. And as for most game exploits currently, just because something is immoral to a reasonable person does not mean that many people will not exploit it. It’s up to Blizzard to prevent and punish the crime, if they feel that it is a crime.

The normal Battleground queue is for players to jump in and play against other players in a similar situation. We realize that it’s not a perfect system, and we’re still looking at ways to improve normal Battleground queues further. Regardless, it’s not meant for organized groups to “pug stomp” and get quick Honor. We have built in outlets for players that want to organize–if a competitive, social experience was really the goal, then there are clear ways to achieve that.

This is from an actual, but old, blizzard blue post. I do agree with you though it’s 100% on blizzard to fix this problem and if they don’t, they game will continue to bleed players till nobody is left. I personally hope they do, because I love what epics could be. Blizzard simply needs to hire some people that their job is to fix and regulate pvp.

I had to verify that was an actual Blue post. And it is. Here is the link:

https://www.bluetracker.gg/wow/topic/us-en/7200052820-joinbattlefield-post-51-part-2/

So Blizz appears to be okay with premades (there are a number of Blue posts re: players in groups counting down to sync Q’s being a-okay) and also not okay with premades (this post was in regards to addons they broke, but it is also pretty clear re: pug stomping being not intended). Doh!

According to this 2012 Blue responses, when it gets really bad, they do something. But, also, these people may not work there any more and times they change.

Sooo round and round we go.

Edit: If you read this whole Blue post, the Blue is slapping the premaders pretty hard. Kinda nice, I gotta say.

Edit edit:

This is the Blue quote Celinthia has above.

Yes, but unfortunately there is a conflict, enforcement.

The mayor could go on television and tell everyone, “ATMs are not made available for you to vandalize them and take all the money, we are working to improve the ATM experience for our community”. But if continously for many following years, nothing is done to prevent the vandalism and theft, criminals will continue to do what they want.

The criminals hear the Mayor’s inaction as permission, and disregard words as words dont stop crime.

Fighting with eachother about “what is an exploit?” provides no beneficial changes. 4 options remain.

  1. Also exploit to the best of your ability in an effort to have the most “fair” fight Vs other exploiters.
  2. Play as you feel the developers intended and risk facing cheaters while you are not cheating.
  3. Opt out of the content you experienced cheating in.
  4. Opt out of paying a subscription for a game designed to help honest people fail Vs cheaters.

I chose option 2 for myself. Each individual has to make their own decisions.

Blizz is no doubt aware of the dissattifaction with the premades.

That is assuming they don’t see on their end most of thes posts are actually like 4 people using a lot of alts and diff accounts. In which case, they will do nothing, except, perhaps action the spam offenders. There have been a number of these thread done by very low count posters who only post about premades. So, that doesn’t help it appear to be a ground swell of dissatification.

Further, they have player engagement numbers. Given the steady, and low, Q times for both factions at all hours of the day for what has been basically years now, epic BGs (and no doubt random BGs) are getting used and q’d for a lot. If players are actually dissatified, why are they q’in up? Esp if there are very few rewards, and there are not many rewards with random/epic BGs except pvp. My guess is random/epic bgs are still the most fun type of pvp in wow. It’s casual, come get your pvp on. Easy peasy, win-win.

Now, I agree that premaders pug stompin is not good game play. In fact they suck to play with, who has fun doing that? Apparently some do. I don’t mind playing against them. I feel like the good guy against the bad bad guys/gals. It works for me.

And you are correct. Blizz would need to do something. But given their posts about groups counting down, idk if they will. We shall see. If engagement numbers go south, I can pretty much guartantee premaders get slapped hard. But that hasn’t happened yet on the random/epic bg scene from the (very few) metrics I can see/experience.

I will note that some of these premade/qsyncer complaint threads have been locked/taken down. Whether that is due to toxic crud, perceived as spam, or what, idk, but it has happened.

Care to provide any proof of this claim?

Blizzard themselves have never said it’s ok, please stop with this lie.

Hmm this is very different to what I and my friends are experiencing, sampled at diffenent times through out the day. We see a steady increasing queue time since the begining of tww for both factions.

If epic bg player population is so great we wouldn’t have the shorthanded team problem caused by premade dropping queue, as the gap will be filled before the match start. Anyway, at least Blizz should fix this problem soon - starting with a shorthanded team is no fun.

I agree I have been playing for a long time, queue times have gone down, sure people are still playing but most of the time I get into games where half my team isn’t there due to sync exploiters dodging each other.

I am just noting what I see in game Ariaenne. I do a couple/few BGs every time I play. This can be at different times of the day. The Q times are almost always ~5 min. On Horde side it can go as low as 3 min. There are times when the wait time says one thing and I am waiting a bit longer. And there are times when it says one thing and I get up to do something and surprise, it pops immediately.

The question remains is if Blizz will do anything. And I have to say, I don’t think they will. But if numbers go down, I think they will. I don’t see numbers in random/epics BGs currently going down.

Maybe others do? If so, I can see Blizz bringing out the heavy guns.

At the start of TWW our queue times were quite fast, between 3-5 mins. But it has steady increase to around 15-30 mins, sometimes worse. Fortunately we have a group of people been sampling for us at different times consistently since the start of TWW, and the trend is clear. Beside queue time, the chance of getting a backfill, and the rate of the team player vacancy getting filled, concurrent instance estimations, and others, can help with the epic BG player population trend estimations. We think it’s going down, but this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

I don’t think we will see Blizz rolling out a fix soon, only because they haven’t yet found a viable solution.

The current problem of Premade vs Pugs in Epic BG and the poor player experience, I absolutely do not believe this is ‘as intended’ by the Game Designer at all. No game designer would be happy with the poor experience Pugs had when stomped by Premades.

Just pushing out a quick fix is simple but it’s a waste effort if it could get exploited again easily and quickly. Whatever they choose to do, ease of maintenance will be a high consideration to minimize the on-going cost. This is a tough challenge but I remain hopeful.

Also, now Blizz is under Microsoft, hopefully we will see good change in Blizz’s business decision to be reflected in the game and these problems addressed as the result.

PS.

  1. It’s wasted effort arguing if Premade is Exploit or not. The aspect we should instead focus on is ‘if this is the intended result of game designer’ and make sure to stay on course. Also, winning the argument still wouldn’t resolve the problem. Blizz is the only one Pugs should talk to rather than premade.

  2. I think Premade and Community can be beneficial for WoW PvP in general, but ONLY if the game can provide a good environment for them, to avoid directly conflict with Pugs players.
