Aren’t the only mana burn effects left in BFA content, from Demon Hunter PvP talents? And aren’t they also ridiculously easy to avoid?
Let the baby have his bottle. How else will he justify his poor pvp performance without something external to blame it on.
I don’t… really see how insulting him makes sense when the only “mana-burn” ability I know of is a DH pvp talent. Care to elaborate?

Well, might I open another line of thought then? What if the individual’s speaking from a fresh toon standpoint? Still leveling it through old-world content. Old-world (i.e. Azeroth/Vanilla) content is still woefully unbalanced. If he’s speaking from that point of view, I’m inclined to agree as those mana burns… kinda hurt.
Old world mobs die so fast that even if all of them had manaburn ability’s it’s irrelevant for a caster. Healers and Arcane Mages are the only casters that really even use mana outside of spamming CC’s.
It’s not. A good demon hunter will tie it in with fel-eruption. Teams will run something like chaos cleave and have the warrior run at someone with the demon hunter, with two high pressure classes with good mobility and a mortal strike training something squishier due to high weapon damage dealing classes. The demon hunter will then rush off target (healer) and fel eruption it, mana burn its feet immediately after, and the stun will last till the mana burn goes off, resulting in 100% guaranteed success. Couple this with the mana nerfs across the board, and it puts all healers on an insane clock the second the gate opens.
Further, it’s worth noting that priest mana burn was removed from the game because the devs felt the mechanic itself was toxic. Giving it to demon hunters is in no way shape or form an excuse, nor does it give anyone the right to insult this OP for bringing something up without actually doing their research.
Edit: And by ‘it’s not’, I mean the ability is not super avoidable, or capable of being dodged. The only people who miss their mana burns are DH’s who have no clue what they’re doing. From a competitive standpoint, a good DH will land 100% of their mana burns, minus the 1 obligatory trinket one.
Then you learn from experience.
