I never thought of it that way, even if it’s true.

Back in Vanilla, we had PvP servers, and fighting was just a part of the game.

Battlegrounds came, we got reputation and stuff with 'em.

It wasn’t until after Wrath or Cata, when I really felt this was the case.

We had Wintergrasp, Vault of Archavon (it dropped PvP gear and it was a raid), Isle of Conquest, and so-on- they kept adding PvP content to the game to keep us around.

And now, looking at DF, I feel the same way about M+, it’s a small lobby-game that’s disconnected from the rest of WoW as a whole.

M+ is a minigame, that gets more attention because it’s PvE, and replaced normal dungeons and even raiding, for some.

But nothing will get as much attention as the overworld, which is only the in-between for all endgame activities.

Basically, there was a subset of WoW players that really enjoyed PvP, but since Blizzard has been doing less and less with it over time, a lot of those players have just left or are playing other PvP games.

WoW always had PvP in it, though.

Heck, the very IP of Warcraft is ABOUT PvP, due to the RTS games.

Maybe Warcraft isn’t about PvP anymore, but the origins of the game were.

Orcs vs. Humans.

Fewer players required.
Equal team balance (1tank vs 1tank)
Smart BG selection - No tank? No CTF BGs
Faster paced games
More action
Power Ups
Fighting is more encouraged than AFK-ing “defending” the dirt.

Why is this a brawl and not just default BGs?

Imo, it’s an open experiment like how Shuffle was.

They’re trying to see what sticks and what’ll keep PvP folk around.

It can replace regular bgs for all I care, those are pretty bad experiences lol, mainly due to team imbalance.

and was one of the worst things ever added to the game. Even the dev’s at the time said so.

Too many balancing issues, nerfs and buffs. Hell tauren used to be able to auto through the pillar due to how their hitbox was.

Can’t be that good if no one in RBGs ever uses it. And that still presents the problem: If people are going to use in game voice chat or Discord, then what’s the point of BG Blitz? Why not just play 10v10 if you’re gonna do that and you also have control over who you play with?

Seething Shore was taken out of the RBG rotation years ago due to bugs. Blizzard said they’d fix it and put it back, but it’s been over 2 years. It’s still available in random bgs.

Sounds like you could roll a meta healer, meta dps, rogue, etc… and solve that problem for yourself.

Isn’t there an in-game voice chat? I’m not sure as I never use voice chat for anything.

Does anyone?

True.
My main issue is the brawl cycle. This will be the 13th brawl, which means we wont see BG Blitz for 3 months after the initial one.

Does this version(brawl) have rating attached? And will this rating unlock anything?

This Brawl is always On.

Ease of access.

Healers in random BGs are matched unless people don’t take queues.

Also random bgs are better on Alliance.

Ease of access where if you don’t hop into voice chat, chances are you’re gonna get wrecked and struggle to push high rating. So unless BG Blitz is an elaborate scheme to show people that 10v10 RBGs are better, there’s little to no point in having it.

It’s being added because 10v10 RBG is dead.

People wanna PvP, like myself, but will give up because filling a group of ten must-have-meta-spots, have decent gear, etc., the player pool has been drying up for a long time now.

Regardless of how it’ll turn out, queueable ranked bgs have been asked for, for a while now, longer than Shuffle if you ask me. Even without voice, I think it’ll be fine.

The more experienced PvPers will shout out directions in chat for the win.

It’s also 8v8, and the maps have some changes, like having two bases instead of four, in EoTS.

150% mount speed as well. It’ll be faster.

Not exactly the same as normal bgs, nor 10v10 RBGs. It’ll be its own thing, like how Shuffle was.

Loads of people want to play, without being forced through the group-finder, spending hours sifting to find a group for them.

The main thing/draw here, is that it’s something different. I want to see how far I can carry groups as a healer- got my rated rival set last season, and that was fun for me.

No, thanks. Message me back after 12.0 or whatever Metzen patch ends all this nonsense.

And sewers has a wall jump hack that at this point its not even a bug at this point. It may as well be considered a designed feature.

and the house cleanings come too late. for reasons mysterious they cleanse the bots, the piloted, the hacks near the end of the season.

Basically when most gave up on arena.

Its like a pool, to use an analogy.

More casuals see the algae loaded disgusting pool and go yeah…no.

They finally chlorine the pool near the end.

and now the casuals go hahaha…now the its clean but has mmr inflation we can’t catch up to either. so off to bg’s we roam still.

Then shouldn’t the IDGAF let’s just fill and roll players be able to start and fill groups easier now?

Those are called “yolo” groups and they generally don’t do too well, lol.

They’re likely to disband after the first loss, which is often, because the groups lack what the more coordinated groups have- a meta comp, and voice chat, usually.

They exist as fodder for more organized groups, the only time they win is against another yolo group.

But a mode that pits these groups against each other? That could be fun.

If it’s getting harder and harder to strategically built groups together, then it should be so for everyone. Yolo groups should still be the most prevalent and likely to run into each other.

It’s not that I have anything against the solo que rbg idea. Just seems weird that a bunch of people asking for it won’t just do the same thing themselves in the current system.
