Get Into the Grid of Things with the Updated UI and HUD

There are still several glaring issues with the new UI:

  • There still needs to be an option to flip action bars vertically. When action bar 1 is set to vertical, with 4 columns. The order is vertically flipped from how it is arranged on a 12 button grid MMORPG mouse. There needs to be an option to change it to arrange it properly. Rebinding the buttons is not good enough, as it messes with the bindings on vehicles, dragonriding, NPC roleplaying, etc.
  • Several elements still do not have move or resize options.
  • Target castbar still can’t be detached from the target frame and moved/resized.
  • Toasts and loot rolls can’t be moved, and their default position is badly placed and runs off the bottom of the screen.
  • The duty finder eye icon doesn’t always show when you are queued.
  • The raid frames malfunctioned while I was in the middle of a boss fight. I had to /reloadui.
  • Buffs and debuffs don’t show who cast them in the tooltip.
  • The raid control panel can’t be moved, and gets obscured behind the raid frames.
  • Tooltips still don’t show item or aura ID numbers.
  • There are still several bugs.
  • The UI as a whole feels rushed, unpolished, and unfinished.

Add to that the most simple things:

  • can’t move/nudge elements with the arrow-keys
  • there is no “align” command

These were standard UI functions in any system in the 80s. Cmon

An addition for your list. The pet health bar is welded to the player frame and cannot be detached or moved. It has an edit menu option but it does nothing.

So was the resolution im guessing this UI was tested in. From the 80s. 300x480 pixels, is what it feels like.

We asked, a lot. But this seems to be the New Way forward, so it is unlikely.

I dislike it greatly and will not be buying this expansion largely because of it, plus the crafting changes, and I have control issues so Dragonflying is basically too frustrating to deal with.

Too many of the key features of the expansion I either find meh or actively irritating.

That issue is a bad mod interaction, not sure which one yet. In the short term, disable all mods and it should go away.

ELVUI is just poorly made

No offense, but this was a waste of man power for you guys. Maybe the arena players appreciate this, but mostly everyone else will seek out ElvUi or WA most likely.

Fishing Buddy. Do you have it also?

Even my computer is utter trash and it never lags from ElvUI or WA or any of my other addons. and I mean TRASH
it was built in 2015 lol

So first y’all rip off 14’s linear storytelling in Shadowlands, and do it horribly

and now you rip off 14’s customizable UI and do it horribly.

The new unit frames and HP bars are obscenely hideous. UI scaling has been completely broken. It’s a mess. Bad job.

It’s pretty buggy for me, even with all addons disabled. And we can’t do simple things like
make the minimap a little bit bigger. Or square.

Are you sure this was a full UI makeover?

Correct, the UI scaling is so bad
even at the lowest setting the default is smaller. Everything seems so big with this patch its driving me nuts.

Now the Field of View is even worse, the camera is so dang close.

I love how every single one of you are hating on the HUD UI when it’s superior than any of the existing addons and also majority of the addons are ugly compared to the official design from blizzard.

Well this is just wrong on it’s face lol.

Defend your precious addons neither of those can even compete with World of Warcraft HUD UI. And also all of the addons aren’t as sleek and aren’t as good looking and aren’t as smooth.

The addons are just better, sorry. If you can do more with addons than with the base UI, the addons are better by default. That’s not really up for debate lol.

Doing everything better doesn’t equal to ease of use and quality of life and also how accessible it is. And one final thing it doesn’t affect gameplay when using the base UI.

Right, which addons also are better at doing lol.
