I was alone doing this and got to 92% before the NPC had enough of me.
Sadly I think the bar is bugged as I couldn’t go past 99% using other methods:

Finished out my last bit of prog doing this with no competition.
Is this an event? I have 4 or five toons exalted with AV from vanilla, so already have the standard AV mounts.

If you wanted to just steal this post & post it with the pictures as intended feel free. I feel it will alleviate a lot of “Mine Congestion” for the people that really want to work on the mount but have no idea there is other methods.

Alliance was always easier in AV and I played it primarily up until Cata, on another post an Alliance guy laid out some strats for this, overall it sounds tedious in spots, but really you should have to do something at least to get it imo, within reason :O)
Posting exploits isn’t the best way to keep your forum privileges, OP. Thankfully you’ve brought this to the attention of Blizzard so they can fix it and players can earn their mounts the proper way as intended.
I think ALL the Turn-In’s should grant progress towards mount.
All HKs should grant progress.
So even if you are defending (while doing side-quests) or zerging (while fighting aimlessly in the Field of Strife) you are working towards the achievement and playing AV how you want.
Edit: Nevermind. I said it was hot-fixed, but when I zoned into a new Old School AV match, it was back to being spammable, lol.

Why would you want to lose? Lol. AV as horde is an exercise in frustration.
Maybe so, but I won an AV match on my horde character earlier. It’s the only match I have had time to do so far so the rest might not go so well. Time will tell 
But you are right, alliance has always had the advantage in AV for sure.
Regardless, after about 15-20 minutes of this huge battle happening near the end and us finally beating all the alliance and making the final push to win was quite fun! Oddly enough, even Classic doesn’t even have this version of AV (which many people aren’t happy about). They went with 1.12 AV unfortunately for Classic.
Hotfixed, they wanna make this as miserable as possible. Suicide would be more fun than this at this point.
In fairness, they may be plugging the holes first before implementing a solution. I saw this thread not long after it was created, and knew it was an exploit. As tempting as it was I decided to not take part in it.
The reason why they chose 1.12 for classic is because people would not understand and complain about why AV had to change as the phases went on.
In vanilla, there was no patch 1.5 version of AV while Naxxramas was out. But if the classic community had its way they would want to make it be that which would violate the “no changes” principle. The grand scheme of classic seems patchwork as of now but by the time we reach naxx the game will behave as if vanilla never ended.
The classic community need to realize that they can’t pick and choose which versions of what they want barring the logical inclusion of gear appearing earlier than it should have.
I understand what you are saying Salana, but them going with 1.12 AV was extremely disappointing to many people because it’s the nerfed Vanilla version. But Blizzard decided to go with 1.12 in general for Classic because it’s the most complete version of the game.
I understand why they went with it, and while I honestly haven’t ever been a big fan of AV, I completely understand the disappointment of those who were really looking forward to the old school AV in Classic, only to realize they were getting the nerfed version. I loved pvp back during Vanilla, but I was more into world pvp, WSG and AB. That’s where I had the most fun.
But, I did have some fun in the match of AV I did today in retail. I think we were in there at least an hour. Even that is a very short match compared to way back when.
