Get an Early Look at Hero Talents in The War Within

Mountain Thane

A dps-tank spec and it isn’t called Gladiator. Another slap in the face to Warriors.

^w^

Which use 2handers, kinda don’t need a bite.

… again, what San’layn do that???

Yeeeee

CAN BE given is an entirely different thing than all “real” ones having them. Only 2 have them, I’m definitely not arguing against getting them.

I think you need to separate vampire lore from other media from San’layn in WoW, they’ve never exhibited slow fall as an ability to my knowledge.

i hope they change the visual effects of a character
i want to see a sanlaynn deathknight, not a deathknight whos specc’d sanlaynn

Even though this is long-term stuff and not borrowed power, it seems to be in the style of the previous systems’ traits. The concerns I have with these especially regards PvP balancing, but I’m sure other aspects of the game might suffer from new shenanigans that will make balancing harder. If these were ‘class skins’ instead, the ‘more classes for more races’ debate could have been settled, encouraging more player agency, variety and immersion.

New talents look interesting but the majority of Unholy playerbase is expecting/hoping for a bigger spec changes.

Having to deal with so many different cooldowns on top of the wound mechanic is not exciting and extremely overwhelming for players that never played the spec. Im hoping for some kind of spec rework where they adress that.

And please change Death and Decay, current version does not work with the way we play the game. Turn it into an aura around you instead of placing it on the ground.

Going from my Unholy main to my retri pala alt feels like im going from playing with two hands to playing with one and chilling… why there is such a huge difference between specs?

What is the point of the Hero Talents if they give all the nodes within a tree. I understand you can pick between two trees and we haven’t seen the abilities or (passive abilities) yet but it feels very lack luster.

Confirmed aint happening.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I also carry the same concern and asked with same thing in mind. This won’t blast back well if it does not turn out to be as announced. Using these long known names which carry huge expectations may greatly backfire.

Also greatly agreed on tying old specs to these new ones, that may not be needed and every class can simply have their own advanced talent sets without any labels or implications that can backfire later.

That way it would also be a lot easier to balance later than these complicated and needlessly detailed talent sets.

The last talens are a beast.

I hope Fel-scarred allows us a permanent metamorphosis or a medium state of permanent metamorphosis, full Illidan mode!

I guess this means San’Layn will never be a thing… that’s kind of sad. :frowning:

I still appreciate that San’Layn are being thought of though, so maybe there’s hope.

Blizzard if you’re looking for feedback, then here’s a bit.

I don’t think it makes sense that Death Knights would simply inherit San’Layn abilities, or Blood Queen abilities without this sort of thing being set up and established in game. The abilities and the names used are so thematically specific and heavy that if there isn’t anything in game to substantiate why a Death Knight would suddenly use San’Layn abilities and suddenly somehow have the abilities of the Blood Queen, then it won’t make sense.

This is a very good opportunity for you to expand on class lore and subfaction lore. San’Layn are a fan favorite so this would be a win either way.

Beyond that, the abilities mostly feel like filler. They don’t feel super relevant or game changing. You have an opportunity to shift a class in any direction you want and you’re giving Death Knights bonus leech, which might be good for dungeons and raids but is incredibly boring, even if it is thematically very strong.

I like the look of the San’layn tree. Please let Blood Elf Death Knights use the red eyes.

Infliction of sorrow looks cool but pressing outbreak every time we use vampiric strike while not having gift of San Layn is too much resource we need to use and some times it could alter the rotation trying to keep the dots up, so maybe we could have the goul have a chance to put virulent plague like it put festering wound currently, so it minimizes the times we need to use outbreak after vampiric strike

Feedback from just looking at it: I don’t main or play any of these specs except Paladin. So can’t give ya any feed back on those. But Lightsmith seems amazing, don’t really it see it transforming the specs but just adding into it. Love Lightsmith so far.

2 sad. 2 freaking sad…

I think class quests to unlock the hero talents would improve them dramatically

Pleaseeeeee full rework for unholy

When i first heard about this system u thought of things like hubters getting aoe silence shot like sylvanas or paladins getting a holy leap spell, or Guardian druids getting aoe moonfire with a movement debuff attached. some form of talents that really made you feel powerful.

Instead its just more gain x % stamina 10 secs blah blah blah.

Nothing hero like at all and just boring to me. Some of these talents belong first or second tier in normal talent trees. Literally nothing in any of these previews makes me excited to try them out. Maybe its just me :frowning:

It aint just you. People let Metzen hype them up without thinking critically of what they are or how these will actually function.

Lightsmith looks… boring? Uninspired?

Like, why am I stopping mid fight to create weapons and shields?

When I think of Paladins, I think of warriors imbued by the light to be upstanding wrathful leaders - think inspired by Jedi or the like. Not divine blacksmith.

So much for permanent choices and ascending to a hero.

The tree looks like taking set armor bonuses and giving them a theme and calling it a new system.

These new systems are bloated.

And in closing, this reminds me why I still like classic better than any expansion.
