I just wanted to make some observations, and this may be obvious to everyone. Khaz Algar would naturally fit into Pandaria (Townlong Steppes / Dread Wastes) and Kalimdor (Tanaris / Uldum). Both Dornogal, Townlong Steppes and the Dread Wastes has the strange trees growing out. Tanaris, Khaz Algar and the Dread Wastes are all infested with variants of Old God worshipping bugs. Which likely would be split between the territories of C’thun and Y’sharaj.
I know there is a lot of thoughts about the Emerald Dream Roots, but I would be curious what people feel about the large trees across these continents.
Only tangentially related (sorry about that) but I happen to have a theory on where Khaz Algar was located prior to the Sundering : its spot on the map of modern Azeroth definitely corresponds to the location of Al’Akir’s seat of power back in the days of primordial Azeroth. Compare the two maps :

That would explain why the Isle of Dorn seems to be naturally teeming with the elemental forces of storm and thunder, and why there is a permanent dimensional bridge to Skywall on top of Dhar Oztan, as explained by this ingame lore book :

tl;dr Khaz Algar is the ancient kingdom/territory of Al’Akir
