Genuinely dont understand why the game is so toxic now

I used to be in a guild with a Navy buddy of mine. We warned everyone. We curse. It’s just what we do. I added to my curse words and phrases to my vocabulary being in the Navy…then add an Army brother to the mix.

We warned everyone that if you can’t handle curse words, you might not want to be here.

Still didn’t stop people from complaining.

Point of the story, you can’t please everyone.

Oh come on, people were not that bad in vanilla that they would make someone name and server transfer.

"You can please some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. But you CAN always use them as live ammunition…"chaotic grin

I wouldn’t say it was bad at all. Would you play with a known thief? Groups had to be manually formed and someone always knew someone else, so word got around on a small server. As someone whom didn’t run with the big guilds of the day, even I knew the guy was a pariah.

I was on a small server during vanilla too but I doubt I would know everyone.

And I doubt I would remember someone all the way into TBC when they started selling name changes in 2007.

Hoo Yah, friend!!! Hoo Yah!!!

I appreciate the kind words Guthild, I truly do.

Leave the guild.

It’s an easy decision. Find a better one.

Now I don’t mean to point out the obvious, but.. It’s literally MG (not that WRA is any better), but, like…

Anyway, I am happy to help anyone. I have a 400 vers DH on Horde side, I offer carries for all sorts of things, and am hoping to be able to do more as remix progresses.

competitive nature. There may have been the occasional sarcastic comment made when we only went as high as heroics. But once we got mythic plus it all escalated. competition often brings out the worst in people. Thankfully, there is a new player channel where they can get help from guides endgame and not have to deal with long time, jaded and cynical players who are solely out for their raider IO score.

Kalecagos was a VERY small server to play on, especially as Alliance. It is now a connected server with Deathwing, Executus and Shattered Halls.

17ish years of people being treated more and more like a disposable, replacable commodity rather than human beings will do exactly that. But hey, at least you don’t have to spam trade for an hour to get a group, right? Totally worth it. < /s >

WoW always has been toxic, always will be. And it’s no different from any online competitive type game, people are just being people I guess.

lmfao okok you almost got me

People like that often flock to these casual guilds because no serious guild accepts them, nor keeps them for a long time.

So it’s a bit of a double edged sword.

I usually avoid guilds who call themselves friendly, low drama, easy going, chill etc. They are often the worse offenders and completely opposite to what they claim to be.
It seems to be a waving flag for nasty people to join and get away with being nasty.

Happened on my server as well. The ninja looters got driven off in a huge way. They loved the attention though and came back to form their own guild. We were never short of server entertainment after that.

What perks? This isn’t Wrath anymore where we had perks for guilds (or was it cata?)

People were joining guilds mainly for the guild perks…

  • Mount Up: Increases speed while mounted by 10%.

  • Hasty Hearth: Reduces the cooldown on your Hearthstone by 15 minutes.

  • The Quick and the Dead: Faster recovery after dying.

  • Guild Mail: Instantaneous mail within the guild.

  • Mobile Banking: Summon remote access to the guild bank
