Genuine Feral question

Sup guys so I was wondering about one thing, why do people prefer feral over assassination rogues ?

I played both for a while, not on a very high end level like M+20 or mythic raiding but imo sin rogue and feral share a lot of similarities but I feel like the rogue pace just feels better and feel like the feral I remember enjoying, kit seems more complete, you basically never starve energy once you have applied your bleeds, you don’t have to wait 50 energy for envenom, have fans of knives and crimson tempest that are kind of swipe and primal wrath and so on

I’m not here to say one is better than the other, just a thought and i’d like to know your opinion about it.

Because druid.

I like feral for the utility that comes with Druid, specifically the off-heals. I’m a healer at heart so it hard to play a dps that can’t heals others.

I mained rogue for s3 of BFA, after maining druid from the second tier of wrath all the way until then. Mid season, went back to druid. Why? If my normal healer has something to do, I can go resto. If my tank has to do something, I can go bear. If everyones around and down to do some content, I can outdps any assassin rogue who wants some :stuck_out_tongue:

I mained a Rogue for about 2 expansions (WoD + Legion), and then started my Druid journey in BfA (what a time to start…).

And Rogue feels better and smoother…but you cannot escape all the goodies that a Druid has. Once you get used to their tool kit and utility and their jack-of-all-tradesness…there’s no going back.

Because they don’t play the same at all and aren’t really comparable besides ‘they use energy’.

Oh come now, I know it’s not fun to be considered a discount Rogue, but Assassination and Feral do play extremely similar and are quite comparable

Yeah…. They both also wear leather.

And they can both be Night Elves!

This.

Sometimes I want to feel like a Rogue…sometimes I don’t.

Its all the extra goodies and stuff you have. Maybe it doesn’t show up on meters, but a clutch soothe, battle rez, hibernate, etc…makes it fun.

And then there are 3 other specs to play if you get tired of feral.

So another update, the girlfriend was watching me run a dungeon…why, i dunno, she makes fun of me and calls me a nerd, but supports me playing so I don’t complain.

But I was giving her a rundown of all my abilities and a 30 second tutorial of what they do as a Druid. Got all these as Kitty, and then I switch to KFC and I get these abilities, and I have these as a Bear, etc etc. Then I showed her my Warrior and went “these are my Warriors abilities”…

Her response: where’s the rest?? The other one had a lot more.

Reason 103

My druid and my rogue are the same ilvl and the druid sims for over 1k more dps than the rogue.

My druid is now my main character. Reasons: CAT!!!, convoke, instant flight, heals, you can stay mounted while looting and interacting with almost everything.

Only down side is that the limit of races that can be druids. Mine is troll, but aside from the feet, she looks really nice.

The ability to swap roles for a few days without rolling a whole new toon is a really big deal for me personally. I think I am about 50/50 as feral/resto for M+ this season with my druid.

Specifically comparing druid to rogue, and I last did 15+ keys as a rogue in patch 8.2, I found feral to be a solid middle ground between the cleave focus of outlaw and the ST focus of assassination. Sub was a dead spec back then, so I never got a good feel for it.

Shroud is absurdly useful, but the current seasonal affix makes it pretty redundant.

For M+, Feral’s soothe is also better because it doesn’t cost energy and has a quicker CD than Shiv. Depending on the affix or dungeon, this makes a significant difference.

Damage profiles come and go, depend on skill, and only really matter above 15+, so, in my opinion, the only absolutely huge advantage rogue has over feral is that rogue has complete damage immunity moves and feral has only damage mitigation moves. Mitigation moves are strong, don’t get me wrong, but immunity is a whole different level of useful.

For me, the bottom line is that if you only want to play one character, have access to every role in the game, and you don’t need to be optimal, druid is your jam.
