Genshin Impact

What does everyone think of this game?

I love it! It has the enjoyable feeling of a JRPG while being open-world like Skyrim or Zelda. It is also one of the few games I know that supports cross-platform play between PS4, PC, and mobile (on the same server) and cross-save (PC and mobile only).

I started playing on the release day and taking my time with it, absorbing everything. I just started the prologue III.

That too! I’m surprised it made over $100mil in less than two weeks of launch, pretty much covering all development costs and then some. As long as it continues to dish out content at a steady pace and no wall to hit at end-game, this game I feel will be around some time.

I’ve been considering giving it a go, but it seems like there’s no character creator?

They are all preset characters with names?

How does that even work in an mmo

That’s because it isn’t an MMO. It’s a single-player RPG with co-op (though co-op is only enabled when you progress to a certain point in the story quest), so you can party with friends to tackle group content and events.

To clarify it a bit, it isn’t a “drop-it-and-forget-it” game in the traditional sense. It has regular content and event updates, so the game has an active server connection.

Oh that’s interesting. For some reason I had it in my mind it was an MMO.

Is the story good?

I’m still in early in the game - prologue III, but the game started off with you and your twin sibling fighting some mysterious god. Your twin get captured by them while you end up getting sealed away. After some time passes and you break free, you’re trying to make heads or tails where/when you are, and find out what happened to your twin.

its a gacha game

downloaded it on PS4 to avoid that kernel root kit stuff.

gonna play it lter
