General WF Sources - Why Is This Still An issue?

It’s my favorite time of PTR season: looking at what Windfury Sources look like compared factions.

Going into AQ and the holiday season is a wonderful time when people love to stop playing classic WoW. Whether it’s their too busy with family and festivities, or they just want to start the new year with healthier habits they’ll drop 1 month in, a notable chunk of people will be dipping out either temporarily or permanently.

That brings us to another round of “it’s fun to roster around annoying shid.”

Alliance WF sources the past week: ~4326
Horde WF sources the past week: ~27987

Give alliance more windfury sources. That’s all. Having to stress over this repeatedly makes me want to quit raiding with my guild and not have to worry about rosters if it’s going to repeatedly be a stretch to get a specific class in that makes the game fun. I don’t care how you do it (rogue utility, a consumable/sharpening stone that needs to be farmed, sanc aura applying it to the raid, etc.), just do something. We’re 1 year in and this problem still persists.

Fun experience:
This week, our only feral for one of our raid groups had to miss raid. As a result, we had to have one of our raiders swap to their feral alt so that the raid can do decent damage. Same raider said they had an absolute terrible time because they don’t enjoy raiding on a character they don’t like playing, and if they have to do it again, they just don’t want to play.

This gets worse as time goes on. WORLD BUFFS ARE BECOMING OPTIONAL CONSUMABLES, and this is still a pain point that makes rostering and raiding not fun. I truly don’t get how it’s so difficult.

Lol, imagine being so mad your feral missed a raid you decide to make a forum post about it…paladins man :joy:

tell me , what do you suggest be done about this?

wildstrikes already is raid wide (and better numerically than anything a shaman can drop) and let me tell you, shaman dont want to drop windfury as a melee shaman cause agi totem is so much better for the shaman who already has wf on both weapons and def not as a caster due to having to move totems alot to get them in range of the melee group.

do you want them to make wildstrikes a book and useable in any form and thus always on?

like what do you want?

Feral is the worse pvp spec in sod thats why nobody wants to play it.

Actually it was a handful of people in now 3 different discords that were complaining about their raids not having ferals and how it just makes the raid unfun, and then the frustrations within my raid that motivated me to post.

When you run into the same repeated issue, and others are as well, it’s common practice to provide that feedback to the ones making the product to see if they’ll address the issue or get a reason as to why they can’t. Or you can peruse the wow forums looking to weirdly try to talk trash from an alt. Both are good I suppose.

Yeah last week we had a boomy switch to feral to bring the buff.

I usually have to log my feral in and have it /follow me for ZG as there isnt much in there for them.

Bgs there is 0 WFs going out for alliance

like what do you want?

First make the Shaman one just as good as wildstrikes and raid-wide. It’s silly that there are two sources of WF, and one is party-limited and worse while another is raid-wide and statted better. Totems and Auras should be raid wide anyways since we have other raid-wide buffs like warrior RC shout, hunter kings, and wildstrikes. It’s total chud the way it currently plays.

Next for accessibility on WF, just among a few options:

  • Make it a consumable that acts just like wildstrikes.
  • Make it an oil that only applies the buff to your main hand weapon.
  • Do the mentioned change above for shamans.
    • Make it part of a rogue/paladin/warrior ability or rune.

There are multiple ways to solve the problem, it’s just silly that it’s something that raids are running into in general, with there not being any fall back for Alliance raids.

i would be for some change as long as it only affects pve.

having always on wildstrikes in pvp would be a big problem and i wouldnt want that at all.

i mean its raid wide alliance side you only need one source per raid. and boomkin is fotm right now. i dont really see a problem with it atm.
