General Vezax in TW

In flexible, the mechanics operate with 10 man or 25 man rules? I don’t mean damage, i mean things like this:

10-man
Mark of the Faceless: Inflicts an ancient malediction on a target, siphoning 5,000 health every 1 second. from enemies near the target, for 10 seconds. Heals General Vezax for 100,000 per tick. He will not cast this on players within 15 yards of him. However, if there are not at least 4 people outside of 15 yards he will start casting it on players inside 15 yards melee and tank included.

25-man
Mark of the Faceless: Inflicts an ancient malediction on a target, siphoning 5,000 health every 1 second. from enemies near the target, for 10 seconds. Heals General Vezax for 100,000 per tick. He will not cast this on players within 15 yards of him. However, if there are not at least 9 people outside of 15 yards he will start casting it on players inside 15 yards melee and tank included.

Is it 4 or 9 people needed to stay away from him?

I believe this should be clear in the Adventure Guide.

You’ll wish to repost this in the Dungeons, Raids, and Scenarios forum, then. The developers don’t come to the Support forums for feedback or suggestions, and the Support Forum Agents here do not pass them along.

Considering that it is flexible, the number of people needed to avoid the mechanic is proportial to the number of players in the raid. So the base is 4 at 10 people, while the max is 9 at 25. Any raid size in between that will require between 4-9 people standing 15 yards away from the boss.

Honestly though, those people will include ranged dps and healers. If your group has a large majority of melee (including tanks) to the point that the only ones at ranged are healers, then the problem is with your raid leader and not the mechanic.

With a decent comp, that requirement for the mechanic will never be a problem.
