General Forum and PVP?

Hello,

I haven’t been active in the game in many years. I’ve recently come back a bit. I was looking around the forums and see some threads in the PVP forum saying it’s better to make posts in general instead of pvp as the pvp forum is very vacant.

Is this more someone being a bit disgruntled, or do you recommend posting in general for more engagement?

PvP in wow is really really low in participation

We are all hot and clueless here, but there are also many of us.

So yes, general discussion is a great place for a post, but only on the condition that you want to get nothing done.

Are you looking for engagement or action?

Posting in the correct section most likely gets you more replies from people actually into the topic.

GD might get you more engagement but will it be from people like me who know nothing? Likely.

Most likely this. While you can post about PvP here, they do have separate forums for a reason. It’s usually easier for them to find feedback in the correct forum.

But if you’re looking to chat with more people about the PvP topic, then this place is more active— but I can’t guarantee a decent conversation. People be crazy here. lol

PVP is active in-game but I don’t feel like many of the forum goers are partaking in it.

I treat WoW PvP as if it was dead. The most I do is visit the sweat lords in my realm and just say “hi”.

And that’s it. From there it tends to get toxic.

IMO:

The best “forum” for PvP right now is the Reddit sub. r/worldofpvp and to some extent the r/wow sub as well.

You will get more feedback, and people that are active in current season ladders of all ratings that can talk to you about whatever is going on. GD is active, but honestly getting a good pvp convo here is rare, it will degenerate very quickly into git gud arguments.

The only other option is to go to Discord.

Only post on the forums if you’re trying to either get flamed for having a hot take

OR

If you’re trying to get trust level 4 so you make mild posts that farm engagement and likes.

It’s never for anything useful these days.

Poont never hear of trust level. Poont think your level of trust rise more quickly when you fight side by side with comrade. Poont not trust forum posters.

I think General is fine if you aren’t getting too granular. You can talk about the state of PvP, big problems affecting it, the behaviour of players in battlegrounds, arenas, and such. Getting down to the nitty gritty of gearing and tactics though is better off in a more specific forum.

I try to counterbalance this with git bad arguments. People don’t realize, if everyone sucked super hard, pvp would be really easy! People could auto shot to 2400! (And yes I mean factorial)

Maybe, just once, for you…

I’d avoid General Discussion for most PvP topics. It will eventually devolve to “PvP is a side game el oh el”, old men yelling about how PvP keeps ruining their PvE, and that you should quit to play a ‘real’ PvP game.
