Gene Hackman

And his wife and their dog have been found dead in their home following a welfare check. Seriously. Another legend gone.

is the title of the post also part of the first sentence of the post? I presume so.

The speculation on her is she may have rejected the donor liver she got from a recent transplant. Way too young.

Oh wow. Gene Hackman was one of the truly great actors, in my opinion.

A lot of the great names people throw around largely play the same character in different movies - I won’t name them.

But Gene Hackman was one of those actors that was versatile, with extreme range. He could be funny or serious. When people ask about the greatest actors, I always thought between Gene Hackman and Dustin Hoffman.

Stole the Superman movies as Lex Luthor.

Hmm. All of them at the same time? That is certainly odd.

Carbon monoxide maybe?

He was definitely among my favorite actors. I know he did 100 films over 60 years, but I think my favorite role for him would have to be split between playing Lex Luthor in Superman and Jimmy McGinty in The Replacements.

These things happen in 3s and he’s #2 after Michelle Trachtenberg.

Who’s next :eyes:

That would be my guess since the initial reports say no foul play is suspected… it seems to happen a lot, with older folks. Or older homes.

When multiple deceased are involved… that is curious.

Sort of reminds me of Chris Benoit… how the WWE did a whole tribute about him and then had to take it back after the details emerged.

Yeah but…
both at the same time?? With the dog??? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Things that make you go “Hmmmm…”

Carbon Monoxide has killed entire families before. Windows closed, something breaks or isn’t working right, kills them all overnight. Articles are saying no foul play, but sometimes they say that before they tell us more, so we’ll see I guess.

My guess is Carbon Monoxide. EVERYONE needs to have one in their basement or wherever their furnace is and one in every bedroom where people actively sleep.

So far they’re saying no foul play, which seems weird cause of all 3. If no foul play, then perhaps carbon monoxide…? Weird that responders to the scene wouldn’t also be affected. Horribly tainted food? If so, then we know who used to feed the dog scraps from the table. But really, no clue. A rough few days for Hollywood.

Could be. I’m not saying it’s foul play but it does raise eyebrows. I believe his wife was significantly younger than him.
